Ball is not hurt. He had a bad cramp in the 2nd half.

Re: Georgetown 2024

Wild to see 10 of the 12 goals by either Sophomores or Freshmen! Those late shot clock goals almost count for 1.5 goals in my mind. They're just daggers to the opposing team.

Re: #8 Georgetown vs Penn State Sunday @ 2:30

I'm amazed to see some of the comments where people seem to think this game will be decided on which Penn State team shows up. That sounds totally ridiculous given then level of play that Georgetown has shown they're capable of playing. My things to look for: -Malone v. Banks - I'm guessing the fres...

Re: Georgetown 2024

In my opinion they got themselves out of offensive sync when they tried to wind down the shot clock with each 2nd half possession. Now, I understand this strategy essentially worked for them in their win over ND, but I feel it walks a razor's edge. You're essentially banking on the ability to pull o...

Re: Georgetown 2024

Anderson Moore is an elite goaltender. The kid makes the spectacular save along with the routine. The defense is galvanizing around him and he bails them out when they spring the occasional leak. Theyre going to have to make room for him on the All American lists starting this year.

Re: Georgetown 2024

Great breakdown and spot on analysis in my opinion. In some sense, this team feels similar to last year's team in terms of figuring out who plays Attack and who runs Middie. ND seemed to struggle on who to put a short stick on. Putting a short stick on Haley isn't as simple as it used to be. He can ...

At what point should Hoya fans be concerned about the lack of transfer portal activity?

Personally, I hit that point two weeks ago.

Re: Georgetown vs Virginia in Qrtrs

I wouldn’t call Nunes buttoned up. He’s consistently high 40’s to low 50’s in save %, but that’s not great. Gtown goalies on the other hand have save % that swing like a tech stock. Neither team has a 60% saver of the ball like you’d ideally hope.

Re: Georgetown vs Virginia in Qrtrs

Boy oh boy did this thread devolve by some winners.. I did enjoy a lot of the early analysis. My quick thoughts: 1) Don’t underestimate these teams seeing each other early this year in a scrimmage. That matters personnel wise. Not schematically though. Both teams are playing different stuff now. 2) ...

Re: Georgetown 2023

Let's suppose the Hoyas win their BE semi matchup, but lose in the BE final. Hence, no AQ for them from the BE. How worried should the Hoyas be about their at-large chances with that outcome? I know other outcomes this weekend can dictate those chances but it's got to be a good worry. The Hoyas have...

Re: Georgetown 2023

JLdlax - good synopsis. This weekend seems to start a second phase of the schedule. My opinion is that the defense needs to improve dramatically to meet pre-season expectations from here. The offense has improved to the point of meeting or exceeding expectations. The defense on the other hand is giv...

Re: Georgetown 2023

Good to see the Hoyas find a winning formula last weekend. They need to have some convincing wins to get their collective confidence and mojo going. Reilly at the X well over 50% is big. He's running a little lower than year's past. We need him closer to 60% with this team. This weekend that will be...

Re: Georgetown 2023

Not a lot of color out of last week's scrimmage. I know it was "closed" but I thought we'd get a report from someone peaking through the fence. There's no way to hide this weekend on Cooper Field. I hope to hear some color on lineups and who looks like what. I hope this squad has some fun ...

Re: Georgetown 2023

12-1 (loss to either Princeton, ND, or Penn....my guess ND) If they manage to get through those 3 I could see a slip-up game against a Lehigh or Richmond.

MD and UVA scrimmages will 100% have them ready for that early stretch though.

Re: Georgetown 2022

A EDIT: It would be a home game for the Buckeyes if they make it. I sympathize... Terps dealt with the same BS last year. With Columbus as a quarterfinal host that had to be a factor for their inclusion. You won't convince me otherwise. Very solid draw for the Hoyas in my opinion. No easy games in ...

Re: Georgetown 2022

I know this has been talked about before, but just want to give another shoutout to our D-Mids. They are very, very good. And not just Geddes and Godine. There's no drop off when Hess and Leary are out there too. Beyond defensive ability, their ability to get the ball up off the ground before it tu...

Re: Georgetown 2022

What's Penn's goalie situation? I was thoroughly impressed with McElroy on Sunday. He stood tall and made a bunch of big saves when the game was still in the balance. The D did a better job in limiting the higher-quality chances, but 17 saves is 17 saves. He certainly played like a 1st Teamer last w...

Re: UVA vs Georgetown

I think some of the latest posters are onto the two keys to this game - faceoffs and goalie play. It seems overly simplified but those are two pivotal areas for both teams. In their losses, but teams struggled to some degree at both positions. In Gtown's loss to Loyola and 1 to Denver, McElroy was a...
