Re: Cleats vs Turfs
My daughter tore her ACL her freshman college season wearing cleats on matted down/old field turf. She was dodging from the top, planted her right foot and went went to cut left and her right knee just gave out. Watching the film it looked like her cleats caught on the turf. I bought her turf shoes ...

Only 6 assisted goals? I think they could have done more to avoid dropping 37 on them. During the break between the 1st and 2nd Quarter coach could have/should have implemented 2 rules: #1. No shots until there is under 15 seconds on the possesion clock. #2. No unassisted goals Would have still been...

Visa? Who needs a visa? Just walk across the border like everyone else....GaitsRightHand wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 2:38 pm Heard that the Tusculum Head Coach is having Visa issues (he's Canadian). Unclear whether he'll be able to coach this season or not.

Re: NCAC 2024
John Carroll will be a great addition to the NCAC. They are competitive across all sports, and will be definitely be among the Top 4 teams in Men's Lacrosse. The other plus is that other teams can schedule them now for April instead of February or early March. OWU has had some memorably chilly and ...

Women's lax Ladder pocket runner piece
Does anyone out there make these and would be willing to sell me a few? Or does anyone know of some place that sells them? I found the STX version on a website for $49.99 but that seems pretty high to me. Also Stylin' Strings sells the kits but I just want/need the runner pieces. I already have leat...

Re: Whittier (CA) drops Lacrosse
First off, you have geographic diversity unlike any other program the school offers (which was true from the start of the program through the late 2000's, then became more Western US with the likes of WA, OR, CO and CA players, with the growth of the game). We had players from all over North Americ...

USA Lacrosse insurance
Any coaches with a USA Lacrosse membership ever try to file a claim and been successful? I was playing with the kids on my team during a team event and was injured. My claim was denied because I was "playing" and they reasoned that I am covered as a "coach" not as a "player&...

Re: UIndy??
Wasn't the previous coach fired or forced out? Seems like UIndy either has really bad luck with coaches or they don't tolerate much of anything. I just can't imagine firing a coach after winning a national championship unless the coach did something extremely inappropriate.

Decent girls stick for beginners
It has been my personal experience that the low cost beginner sticks sold at places like Dick's Sporting Goods are not very good. They require a lot of work after purchase to make them usable and even then they just aren't great. It makes it harder to teach a new player how to pass & catch when ...

Re: Rule Changes for ‘22 season
I'm a big fan of going to quarters. It gives coaches more time to actually coach their players. As a HS girls coach I like quarters for the same reason. Now give girls/women the same number of time-outs as boys/men! Having come from the boys side, I always thought it was ridculous that boys had mor...

Women’s Lacrosse Rules Committee looks to make game more efficient Members of the committee, which met virtually last week, think fewer stoppages in the game can be achieved through the following modifications: The game clock would continue running, while the possession clock would stop or reset, d...

Does Howard University still have a women's lax program? And if so, who is the coach? Their website doesn't appear to have been updated since the covid shortened 2020 season.

Re: "Faketional championship"
On a national level is there some reason that a midwest conference like the CCIW gets or got more respect than the NCAC and OAC? I could see if the at large bids went to traditional powers in lax hotbed areas but come on? I don't think it has anything to do with respect for the CCIW or belief in th...

Am I reading this right? The #5 team in the country was left out of the tournament in favor of Carroll (an unranked, three-loss team that lost by 16 goals in their CCG) and Illinois Wesleyan (an unranked, three-loss team than didn’t even make their CCG)? What? Not sure how/why the College Conferenc...

Re: NCAC 2021
I guess nothing's official until it's announced, and maybe not even then (says every Ohio State football fan), but I'm hearing different things. The NCAC allowing both, out-of-division and out-of-conference games. With Oberlin's exit, some East/West crossover is coming into play, looking to give al...
