Looking forward to the first I can’t believe they has x at 37. She’s definitely 35

Izzy Scane. nuff said. Don't think anyone is particularly close to her. Will be interesting to see what people's opinions are of where she may end up all time.

This might be a hot take but..personally i think she's better than Charlotte North

I don't think that's such a hot take. I thought she was better than Charlotte North back in 21.

I'm interested in where Erin Coykendall ends up and whether Madison Taylor and Molly Laliberty will be on the list.

I think goaltenders should have their own list--but I'd have both Molly and Madison in the top 20. Erin in the top 5 along with Isabelle and Isabella.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall to hear how each player is designated a spot based on which criteria.

(As long as I'm borrowing the cliche...)

I have little faith in how the women’s side picks their players and in what order. I get the vibe the Women’s director is too busy and pretty much phones it in. She also doesn’t hide her Syracuse roots and is a little too rosy on her Alma mater.

While many complain about the boys side, I feel they do a much better job.

On either side these rankings are garbage.
41 is better than 31 who is better than 28.
Pure nonsense.

I'm honestly not even sure how it's really possible to rank the players outside of maybe the top five or top ten. The only ranking I would be certain of is that Izzy Scane should be number one, and I don't think reasonable people would disagree.

That is fair. Scane should be 1. It’s not close in my opinion.

Here’s a potential topic for some discussion.

Who is the best player at each position?

Here are my takes:

Attack - Izzy Scane
Midfield - Belle Smith
Defense - Sam Thacker
Goalie - Lauren Spence

Scane's an obvious one, but what criteria do you have in mind for assessing a player's worth/value/whatever? How much does the eye test come into play with stats, strength of schedule, how the player does in big games/crunch time, etc?

In my experience with ratings they usually go with glitzy and obvious qualities and stats . They do not take into consideration intangible factors . If coaches are not volunteering that info the people that evaluate are not going to go past obvious stats.

There’s one reason for this: He’s Mr. Irrelevant.
It shouldn’t be surprising that 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is now the betting favorite to win NFL MVP this season.

So much for where you land on someone's list. Just meaningless stuff that people can argue about ad nauseam.
Face it off/do the draw and we'll see how much better #38 ranked is than #29 ranked is.

True.

I was asking user1020 as he was the one who suggested the topic.

Who would you choose for your best player at each position? I'm still pondering mine.

I think we can be a little more particular since it's just us here on the WD1 board. Always interesting to look at different players and how they are perceived outside the mainstream publications like IL Women and USA Lacrosse Magazine.

My vote to evaluate middies is the eye test. I'm basing this on watching Taylor Cummings at the world cup, she was just so dominate. I have no idea what the stats were but in the championship game she was everywhere dominating draws, scoring, transition. I think for middies this is the best way, sort of you'll know it when you see it.
