BC v. Notre Dame -- NCAA Quarterfinal

Post by Seacoaster(1) »

Giving this and the remaining two their own threads for discussion. Use them or not. This should be a very good game.

BC wins 15-14. I just want Can Opener and Grateful Red to sleep well tonight.

Illegal spectator set up at Boston College. Wonder why the refs allow that? The rules are crystal clear. I can speak from personal experience about having been evicted by an official when I was watching a game from behind the end line.

BC sure seems ready for this game. That yellow on Smith is not, however, helpful to a player who plays a lot of defense.

Wow. BC running away. Still early but I thought this would be closer.

Nice turn and cut by Martello to turn her defender so she could make the catch; pass from Smith right on the money. Nice lacrosse.

Cuz there is zero room there for spectators. Terrible facility. Can only imagine the lines for the disgusting pits.

It certainly looks like a very cramped facility. But the rules are the rules. You have to kick out those spectators standing behind the end line. All venues have capacity limits. Once the limits are exceeded, go home and watch on TV.

Agree but for some reason, rules don't seem to apply there.

Where is the rule about no spectators behind the end line? I have seen numerous schools with fans behind the goal.

Last YC against ND was a really weak call. BC defense is the biggest difference.

Rule 1, sec. 15:

"No spectators are allowed behind the end lines, except in permanent stadium seating positioned behind protective netting or fencing."

Not sure if you are referring to fans sitting in permanent seating, which is allowed, or something else.

BC has permanent bleachers behind netting. How is that illegal?

I just looked at ND’s out of conference schedule and they only played one ranked team in Northwestern.

Gotta have a strong goalie to get to finals . I’m still shocked they beat Florida
