2022 Season Lets Go!

Post by HoundsDad »

Hey All, Just wanted to see what thoughts everyone has about the upcoming season. Starts next week for most. Any news to share or insights? UIndy picked up 2 new transfers to help on offense. Any other news out there?

Where'd they transfer from?

Looking forward to the season! First D1 game is this weekend. Next week, D2 gets going. Can't wait!

The season has not even started for YHC and I hear there are already issues. Apparently, there are some players who are academically ineligible to play and the AD announced open tryouts. Their 2022 roaster shows 16 eligible players and it looks like their goalie is now on defence. Not good for this program.

Well I guess this is what you get when the school is not committed and passes on some good experience college coaches to hire a HS coach with no experience. Not saying he doesn't know the game but there is so much more to coaching college that people do not realize.

I'm interested to see the game tomorrow night for a couple of reasons - first, it's the game of the season in D2. Second, I'm curious to see what the new Young Harris team looks like after the last few years of "turmoil".

I think the Seton Hill vs Lewis game was bumped to Sunday...no longer on Saturday.

Adding preseason rankings (USA Lacrosse Magazine/Inside Lacrosse), RV=receiving votes

Upcoming games:
2/2/2022 Young Harris Tusculum
2/4/2022 Anderson (SC) Florida Southern (RV/?)
2/4/2022 Flagler Embry-Riddle
2/4/2022 Queens (17/16) Lees-McRae
2/5/2022 Alabama Huntsville Lincoln Memorial
2/5/2022 Barton Wingate (3/3)
2/5/2022 Belmont Abbey (9/13) Limestone (16/17)
2/5/2022 Chowan Lander
2/5/2022 Florida Tech (RV/?) Rollins (RV/?)
2/5/2022 Lenoir-Rhyne (2/2) UIndy (8/9)
2/5/2022 Lindenwood (13/11) Illinois Wesleyan
2/5/2022 Lynn (20/?) Tampa (4/7)
2/5/2022 Montevallo Mars Hill
2/5/2022 North Greenville Young Harris
2/5/2022 Pfeiffer Emmanuel (Ga.)
2/5/2022 Quincy Rockhurst (18/20)
2/6/2022 Seton Hill (7/4) Lewis
2/6/2022 Catawba Florida Southern
2/6/2022 Coker Mount Olive (10/12)
Best games look to be LR hosting Indy, followed by Abbey hosting Stone, and then Lynn hosting Tampa.

Illinois Wesleyan (DIII) shows the game visiting Lindenwood as an exhibition.

I was at the game today and stood on the sidelines between the two teams…Stone was up by as many as 15 goals (20-5) in the final quarter (10-4 at half…and not even that close) !! I’m not surprised that the Saints won but I am shocked by the margin against the CC favorites. The Abbey scored the games first goal BUT after…it was all Limestone ! It will be interesting to see how the two teams do in their respective second games next week ! Congrats to Coach Storrier, a former standout in his playing days at The Stone and driving force as an assistant in multiple National Championships, on winning in his head coaching debut at his Alma Matter!! Go Saints!!
