In 2019(their first season), the Utes went 5-10.
In 2020, the Utes finished the short season 3-3.
In 2021, the Utes, who had fewer games than they would have if not for COVID, ended their season with a 4-7 mark.
Starting in 2022, Utah and Coach Brian Holman will be in the ASUN Conference, along with:
Bellarmine, Air Force, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, and Robert Morris
Them now having better chances for postseason appearances, due to automatic bids, could be huge for recruiting.
I would assume that Utah's OOC schedule will include multiple tough opponents. Could 2022 be the season in which the Utes:
1. finish at or above .500
2. win their conference and make their first NCAA Tournament appearance?

Wondering what happened to Dominic Atwell ?

At one point this guy was considered a 5 star recruit.
Out of Calif.
Was confirmed as a commit, but looks like he didn’t even
make it on campus last year.

Well, since the original post, there has been a coaching-change. I think Andrew McMinn could prove to be one of the best DI coaching hires in the past several years. Would be a great story if he led the Utes to the conference title and an NCAA Tournament appearance in his first season.
Does anyone know if he has announced his coaching staff yet?

Sean Doyle followed him to Utah to coach the defense. He needs a third coach.gymman1031 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 1:02 pm Well, since the original post, there has been a coaching-change. Thanks so much! Will be interesting to see if the other full-time coach is someone who was on Holman's staff.bar_down wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 6:40 pmSean Doyle followed him to Utah to coach the defense. Well, the Utah staff, at least when it comes to full-time coaches, is complete. Tim McDermott, the Utes' director of lacrosse operations the past three years, and who was Dom Starsia's volunteer assistant for two years at UVA, has been named an assistant. At this point in time, I don't think the Utes could ask for a better staff.

Would be a great story if Utah's first season in the ASUN Conference, and with Andrew McMinn as head coach, ended with a conference championship and the Utes first postseason appearance.

I went to the Utah-UMBC game. And Utah has a very devoted and tight-nit fanbase. Too bad very few, if any, are members of this page.
