WM playing against the 6th seed - one would think it would be an EASIER DRAW to play the 7th seed - NO?
Hopefully Saturday is a classic Northport vs Ward Melville matchup
Obviously seeds don't tell the whole story. Connetquot beat Northport and lost to Hills by 1. Riverhead played a soft schedule and wasn't competitive against any top teams. Bay Shore played the full gamut and was more competitive than Riverhead against top opponents.

Good for Riverhead for going 11-3 but I'd rather play them than Connetquot.
Something happened to Connetquot after they played Hills tough and beat Smithtown East - they lost to Floyd, Pal-Mac and Commack and to WM by 7 and Huntington by 3.

I agree they don't seem to be the same team they were early, but they are at least capable of being that team. Riverhead I don't think is capable of beating WM.

Understood - good point - hopefully NPT and WM meet in the next round - should be a great game

It should be if we both survive. As a 2006 Northport grad, I'm more than a little aware that our current run of success against WM is fleeting. Every time we play I can't help expecting it to revert back to how it was.

Northport 14, Bay Shore 9

Tigers looked vulnerable. Uncharacteristically Baumgarth really struggled at the faceoff dot and Bay Shore was able to generate quite a bit of offense. Was 6-5 Northport at half but the Maurauders seemed to tire a bit as the Tigers pulled away late.

When will the Nassau County playoffs begin and where can I find the brackets? The Suffolk playoffs are well detailed and rather thorough.

Similar score to the first game of the season, which I think was 10-7. Was 6-5 Manhasset at Half. Manhasset outscores them 3-2 in the 2nd half. Combination of Manhasset very much having a down year and Roslyn being vastly improved. Manhasset only shot is if they can win enough faceoffs and there defense performs as strongly as they usually do. As much as it pains me to say it, GC wins by 5.

Hills 14-8 over Huntington
Back in 1969, Hills was heavily favored over the Blue Devils (last time we had a shot at a Suffolk title) and they upset the Thunderbirds to claim the Suffolk crown. Doug Schreiber was the HHH captain that year.

13 - you got your wish - Tigers v Thunderbirds May 23 @3PM at Longwood HS for the Suffolk title.

For the T-Birds its been 62 years since they last won a Suffolk title. Maybe 2s the charm

Interesting (to me) to examine L.I. teams’ paths to State Championships. Based on Lax Numbers ratings I put them in order of degree of difficulty by game assuming form held:

A. Top rated team is Half Hollow Hills (Top 4 A teams come from Suffolk)
1. Suffolk
2. L.I. Championship (Farmingdale is 5).
3. East Semifinal (Shenendehowa is 6).
4. State Final (McQuaid Jesuit is 10).

B. Top rated team is Garden City (They are the top rated public school in the State).
1. Nassau (South Side is 2 in B).
2. L.I. Championship (East Islip is 3 in B).
3. East Semifinal (Somers is 4 in B).
4. State Final (West Genesee is 7 in B).

In short A and B representatives would be playing their games in descending order of difficulty.

C. Wantagh is the top rated C team and trails only GC in NY Publics.
1. L.I. Championship (Bayport Blue Point is 2).
2. State Final (Jamesville-DeWitt is 3).
3. East Semifinal (Rye is 4).
4. Nassau (Island Trees is 8).

D. Cold Spring Harbor is 2nd rated team in D.
1. East Semifinal (Pleasantville is 1).
2. State Final (Marcellus is 3).
3. L.I. Championship (Babylon is 8).
4. Nassau (Friends Academy is 19).

14-3 Northport over WM. Total domination. Rare to see WM get worked over like that. Our boys were firing on all cylinders despite losing the faceoff battle.
