CAA 2025
Re: CAA 2024
are we healthy for tomorrow ? saw couple guys with leg issues at last game
Re: CAA 2024
The Monmouth vs Drexel game is unwatchable. 9 turnovers each team and there is still time left in the first half. Drexel 2-0.
Absolute garbage.
Absolute garbage.

A real barn-burner
Only 37 total turnovers.
Sorry, Dutch.

Re: CAA 2024
This game set lacrosse back nearly a century. 6-4 Final. Drexel 19 turnovers, Monmouth 18 turnovers. Or one turnover for every 97 seconds.
I believe that Stony Brook will beat the now hopeless Hofstra squad since the Pride have nothing to play for besides...yes, pride. And I can't help but think that if Towson and Delaware were asked who they'd rather play in a first-round game, they'd both choose Fairfield over Stony Brook. At the same time I can't see Nadelen or DeLuca tanking this game tonight. But it is interesting.

Re: CAA 2024
Great game, more typical of the high level CAA style,
11-10 Tigers.
11-10 Tigers.
Re: CAA 2024
Hens make the tournament ?
Tigers make the tournament ?
Still, Hens with their 6th straight winning season, a precedent for them.
Michael Robinson passes Tye Kurtz in goals, now among the all time Division I goal scorers, has surpassed any expectations anyone could have had for him.

Don't sleep on the motivation that comes from being the spoiler who can keep a rival from reaching the post-season!Henpecked wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 5:06 pm This game set lacrosse back nearly a century. 6-4 Final. Drexel 19 turnovers, Monmouth 18 turnovers. Or one turnover for every 97 seconds.

Re: CAA 2024
Stonybrook lost to Monmouth earlier in the season. Anything is possible w them. This is Hofstras Super Bowl. They will come out swinging. The confidence they get from playing well vs Yale I think adds fuel to the fire. Can Hofstra get saves? They need some help in that dept.
Re: CAA 2024
Tigers are closing in on St Joe’s.
18th in RPI now, but its probably too little to late.
Still, if the Tigers pull off the CAA tournament, likely a beatable #3 or #4 seed instead of a 1 or 2, or even the dreaded play-in game.
Right now, I’m seeing the Tigers as the tougher, more complete CAA rep in the NCAAs versus the Hens,
except of course, the Hens with the more recent NCAAs experience.

Re: CAA 2024
Wouldn’t doubt Hofstra comes out swinging. Stony did end their season last year on their home turf and it’s senior day for Stony brook. Although it’s tough to get up for a “meaningless” game, still think there is plenty for them to play for. If stony gets in as the 4, idk I feel like that would worry me as Towson. Played them to a one goal and Gilardi has his ties there. Delaware kinda has their number but that could be an interesting 1v4 I think.
Re: CAA 2024
I definitely did sleep on Hofstra. What a terrific effort from the Pride. I am in shock. You'd have to say that Stony Brook had, by far, the most disappointing season of any team in lacrosse. Coming off a CAA finals last year with all of that talent returning and finish 4-10 ... truly mind boggling.JustPassingThrough wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 11:00 pmDon't sleep on the motivation that comes from being the spoiler who can keep a rival from reaching the post-season!Henpecked wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 5:06 pm This game set lacrosse back nearly a century. 6-4 Final. This Stony Brook season was a definite clunker, watching from the outside.Henpecked wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 2:04 pmI definitely did sleep on Hofstra. What a terrific effort from the Pride. They went 1-6 vs Air Force, Providence, Dartmouth, Monmouth, Towson, Fairfield, Hofstra. Should have been 5-2, maybe even 6-1 based on how 2023 went. 4-10 could reasonably have been 8-6 or 9-5.

Hofstra came out swinging alright, goalie played great. He was the difference.
Re: CAA 2024
Fairfield with their first winning season since 2020, but in reality their first 'Competitive in the CAA' year since 2016.
Making the CAA tournament probably means more to them than other teams.
Effort is there much more than in past years.
No real "Bad" losses.
The underclassmen are there to be competitive again next year.

Re: CAA 2024
Definitely a good year for the Stags with long-awaited conference wins over Drexel and Stony Brook, plus making it three in a row vs Hofstra and beating Providence. Loss to Sacred Heart was a surprise and getting routed by Bryant was a setback, but they've put together a nice conference run going 4-0 against the teams playing to join Towson and Delaware in the playoffs. Nice too with it happening after two top 2025s (a former rookie of the year and a 2nd team CAA defender) transferred out to Ohio State.10stone5 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 3:59 am Fairfield with their first winning season since 2020, but in reality their first 'Competitive in the CAA' year since 2016.

The 2022 team actually put together a solid season, going 2-3 in conference including a win at then-receiving votes UMass and close losses to Drexel (had a q4 lead) and Delaware (was tied entering Q4).
Re: CAA 2024
gut wrenching season for hofstra , where we go from here?
