To be fair, Gina’s had 2 winning seasons in 11 years at Cincinnati. She is a phenomenal person, one of the best I was ever around on the recruiting circuit. But, at some point, the record speaks for itself.

Ohio State made a change because they want to win Big Ten and National Championships. They fired a proven BCS Head Coach. Hiring someone with Gina’s record as a head coach would be a tough sell given their aspirations.

This is AWESOME. Hardworking, smart coach and an outstanding person. Happy for her and for the program. Now, we'll see if she can figure out how to right the ship.

A lot of work ahead of her, but happy for Jess. Great person.

They were a pretty good team in 2022. Was a top NEC team before switching to the AE

Dowd officially named HC at Brown. Look to her bringing in Taylor Gait as an assistant.

What makes you think that (know she was an assistant with Gary for a year)?

UVA head coach Julie Meyers stepping down after 28 years. Assume this will be a sought after job.

Pretty sure Ally Kennedy is the front runner. I think she was promised to be top of the list when she took over.

I have no info on this. But their lead assistant Jessica Becker is VERY well regarded in the college lax world. Lots of girls (including one of my daughters) love her.

If not this job, she will get a head coach job soon.
Why doesn't Colgate just move on from KT and make Jessica Baker the HC? Starters from last year's team are in the transfer portal, if they do not correct the situation soon it will be too late.

Which Colgate starters are in the portal?

Two years of experience? Maybe. But I’d expect this to be one of the top jobs to open up in years.
Uva top 25 school academically and one of the most popular schools in the nation. Plays in the acc with a track record of excellence, even if they have been eclipsed in the past decade as a top 3 team in that division. Women’s lacrosse a well recognized and respects sport at the school.

If osu was an attractive job, this is much more so, nothwithstanding the rants of the big10 fanboys on this site 😀

Both are big job openings but UVA is a huge opening. OSU is in the Big10 and has a large budget, but they don’t have the success that UVA has had. Even in their down years they have been a top 20 team consistently and are constantly in the tournament. A new coach at UVA might bring them back into a consistent top 10 ranking.

This is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, opening in recent memory. UVA is a sleeping giant! Julie is a great leader and person, but they had really fallen off. The admin at UVA made a difficult but likely proper decision. Hire will be important here.
