Maybe. They could also lose every conference game on the schedule. It's a big leap from a neat group of freshmen to beating UVA, Notre Dame, Duke and others.

They could lose every conference game and still be a top-10 team. That said, I would give them better than even odds of beating an ACC team next year.

On the basis of talent differential, yes, that is the most likely one, though for some reason Syracuse seems to match up well against Duke.
But my point was that by closing the talent differential, Syracuse makes the 'any given Saturday' result more in doubt, so over the course of the season, I would bet they could steal one.

Per IL

Former @CuseMLAX shortstick Brandon Aviles will join @JHUmenslacrosse as a grad transfer, sources tell @Inside_Lacrosse. A highly athletic four-year contributor to the Orange’s SSDM unit, Aviles finished with 74 GB’s and 21 CT’s in 38 career games despite battling injuries.

Not sure if this has been brought up in the forums but do we know what specific grad programs are bringing in the most guys by school? (I know it varies greatly on the individual and their coursework prior but…) Better worded: Which specific programs are most appealing for some of these student-athletes that are making the jump? What are the best and most common at Duke, Carolina, ND, UVA, UMD, etc…

Just curious to see what some of these guys are working towards as they wrap their eligibility!

don’t know how you’d get such info,
unless someone wants to make public their grad program.

My father used to be a Cuse basketball fan and he told me the preferred program at Georgetown was underwater basket weaving. I can’t DTA I confirms that but it sounded good to me.

I would bet a lot are doing something relating to business because there are some one-year programs that give you coursework and credentials but maybe not an MBA [which normally takes 2 years]. I have had students enroll in one-year programs in both real estate and accounting, for example.

My father was an instructor at G'Town when Ewing arrived on campus.....basket weaving may have been a risk for him as a freshman. :D

I am neither a Georgetown nor Patrick Ewing fan, and you might have inside information, but I heard that John Thompson did not allow his players to totally blow off classwork. Maybe not the highest standard, but better than some.

don’t know how you’d get such info,
unless someone wants to make public their grad program.
My father used to be a Cuse basketball fan and he told me the preferred program at Georgetown was underwater basket weaving. I can’t DTA I confirms that but it sounded good to me.
My father was an instructor at G'Town when Ewing arrived on campus.....basket weaving may have been a risk for him as a freshman. :D
Buddy of mine went there during Mutombo years and said he’d walk into bars and go “who wants to sex Dikembe?”. I wish I was that baller.
it happened.
I attended Georgetown at the beginning of the Thompson era. The first class he brought in was 3 DC guys, a NYC kid, and the suburban DC guard whose father was a math professor at GU. Four years later his inner city guys all graduated on time. The suburban guy dropped out after freshman year and tended bar for a time. I also lived in a regular dorm with some basketball players and they actually came in every night with books from study hall. It was at least a serious attempt at a real education back then. I cannot speak to later years…

“In May 1985, Patrick A. Ewing received his bachelor's degree from the College of Arts & Sciences--on time, as he had promised to his mother four years earlier.”

Patrick moved to Boston from Jamaica and struggled with the language and the dialect. Just because your English isn’t good, doesn’t mean you are dumb. The #1 student in my MBA program was from Turkey. His English wasn’t too good….a stupid American said “If he is so smart, why can’t he speak English?”…..my guess is your pappy wasn’t well traveled like my stupid classmate from Southington CT that had never been beyond northern New Jersey.
“You lucky I ain’t read wretched yet!”
