Richie Connell on the roster now. BIG pickup for the pioneers. Had a great year for Richmond and should provide some competition for Kueber at attack. Wondering about fellow Richmond player Mustang Sally who could absolutely help out the rope unit for this spring.

Saw this on the Rutgers thread and thought it'd be a good way to get back on Page 1.

Regular Season Record:11-3
O MVP- Jack Hannah
D MVP- Jack Thompson
Team MVP- Alec Stathakis
New comer of the year- Casey Wilson

I think other candidates for New comer of the year are:
Richie Connell - A - love his size and shooting
Jimmy Freehill - D - Might take Colin Squires spot by the end of the year
Mic Kelly - M - hoping he is on the 2nd midi line

I hope Noah Manning gets some playing time, but he might struggle to get on the field with Alex Simmons, JJ Sillstrop, and Richie Connell.

2022 NCAA Lacrosse Preview: No. 12 Denver
Some interesting observations:
  • Sounds like Alex Simmons is moving back to play on the first midi line with Teddy Sullivan and Jack Hannah. I think that will get more offensive weapons on the field. Sounds like he may play some time at attack too depending on the game and situation.
  • Loyola game reference makes me frustrated and I am fired up for the new season to start and want redemption.
  • I hope we take more timeouts on offense this year. That was a Tierney hallmark in past seasons, and not sure why the strategy was different in 2021. It happened in multiple games last year.
  • Sounds like Drew Erickson will start at attack. Drew is a great scorer and finisher.

An impressive midfield unit...
USA Lacrosse Magazine @USALacrosseMag
"We're confident we have one of the best midfields in the country."
The trio of Jack Hannah, Ted Sullivan and Alex Simmons have @DU_MLAX primed for yet another big season.

So then,
that would be two San Ramon Valley High (CA) attack to
start for the Pios should it come to pass,
Austin French is the highest scoring DI player to come out of
the CA prep system, French and Adamson, are 1 & 2.
Although, Anthony DeMaio is likely to pass both those
ex-Pios this year.

Denver start the Media Poll at #12 tied with Syracuse.
https://www.insidelacrosse.com/league/di/polls

Johns Hopkins is #19. It will be interesting to see how the teams match up in the scrimmage this Saturday.

JHU had a rough season last year, but came together in the last month. They will be a tough match up for Denver.

Top 20 schedule match ups:

1/29 Johns Hopkins #19 scrimmage
2/19 @ Duke #3
3/5 @ North Carolina #6
3/13 Yale #7
4/2 Georgetown at #4

ACC has top 5 teams in top 12
BE has 2 teams in the top 12
Patriot has 3 teams in top 14
Ivy league 3 teams in top 15
CAA has 2 teams in top 18
B1G has 3 teams in the top 19
America East has 1 team in top 17
NEC has 1 team in top 20

It will be a fun year and the pre-season media poll is just a measure of subjective media bias.

It makes for good debate. A lot will change over the coming months. I can't wait.

Any chance you'll be at the scrimmage on Saturday and can provide some notes?

Not sure if stats will be kept online. But, the online stats page shows Johns Hopkins vs Denver right now.

If it happens, they will be deleted after the game so capture a screenshot.

Anyone gonna put this game on facebook live or something simlar but less evil? (not the game, the Meta Robot Guy) All ya need is a phone and a steady hand, and some announcer skills would help too.

You may want to exercise some caution when taking notes. At his age, the coach would be well advised to keep calm before the real games start. He’s not too queen on note taking.
