Interesting statement. Seems like the best team all season wins not nearly as often as expected. Penn State was the huge #1 in 2019, Maryland was #1 seed in 2018 and Albany #2 (Yale won it all), Terps were the best in 2017 and won, UNC was nowhere near the best in 2016. Denver was seeded #4 in 2015. It goes on.
Denver was seeded 4 but that was because of their conference. They were the best team that year

50 degrees. double digit wind with gusts to 28 mph. rain throughout the entire first game and at least to start out the 2nd.

could be a mess. not your sunny spring mmd weekend final four.

What a treat to have the top coaching minds in the game square off this weekend!

UVA has the experience and has been playing the best ball IMO over the last few weeks. They came back against a very solid Bryant squad and we all know what they did to Gtown. I think Lars actually has the right chops in these moments...learns not to overthink and burden the kids with strategy and lets his kids play.

With that said I think any team has a legit shot. Should be fun to watch!

Man that ESPN camera guy needs to wipe the camera lense off. This can't be his first rodeo with rain.

Can't win if you don't have the ball, I failed to take that into account...

Terps easily match the Cavs on the
offensive side.
If they pull off their 16th win,
I’d stack the Terps up there among the best,
no sure thing of course.

Yes with all the talent concentrated on a few teams this Terp team undefeated would be the greatest of all time.

. That's certainly saying something! That Cuse 1990 team wasn't too bad - neither was that Hoos team in 2006.

Just like, 2019 against Yale, UVa is a HUGE UNDERDOG in this game. What was it that Jimmy V said before the '83 National Championship game? "The only way we win is for us to get two points per basket and Houston just one pt."

That's just like this matchup. Hoos are clearly outmatched in every position. It will take a miracle.

There was a Loyola poster with that routine.
Worked for them until Duke.
And almost worked for them against Duke.
It was Kramerica. Here is a sample:

Dude they’re not “huge underdogs” I’m sure plenty of people will pick them due to the advantage they should have on faceoffs.

And the 2005 Hopkins team was better than both of those.

If Virginia wins the game in the middle of the field with faceoffs, groundballs, and a vicious ride, the Cavaliers could very well win the game.

If, however, Maryland can hold their own in the middle of the field and turn this primarily into a 6 vs. 6 half-field contest, I think the Terps will take it and win the national championship.

I have very mixed feelings saying this, but I think this Maryland team is pretty special. :?

My pick: Maryland wins it all.

*GAG*
*PUKE*
*PUKE AGAIN*
*PUKE AGAIN and AGAIN*
