Re: Syracuse 2019
Cuse with another flip, this time going to an Ivy.
My personal take... Cuse has gotten out of their element. Why are they recruiting players that could even be admitted to Ivy League schools and schools like ND. They have excelled in the past with players that have a high lacrosse IQ not a high actual IQ. They need to get back to what they know Gaits, Powells, high end upstate recruits and high end juco transfers. Kids that know how to play lacrosse not ones that know how to build a rocket and are looking to get into mensa.

Nothing wrong with a Syracuse education as it is a solid school but valid point.shaadb-man wrote:Cuse with another flip, this time going to an Ivy.

Syracuse was somewhat late to the feeding frenzy of early recruiting which turned out to be idiotic on many fronts . In hindsight, switches especially by top students upward could have been expected. Not sure however how any coach would turn away talents out of that worry that their grades were too high.
Bump in road .Large pool of good talent in the mid range of SAT's scores that would like to play there.

Dear Dome,
Went to the Crunch game at the War Memorial last night (Crunch 5-0 over the Binghamton Devils) where no one attending the game was treated like a suspect when entering the building. Didn't need a little clear plastic bag to put all my stuff in, some ladies brought their purses in, no one was scanned by electronic frisking devices, was able to step outside between periods and come back in. Was a pretty good and fun experience all in all. In case you're worried, will let you know nothing blew up and no one got stabbed or shot at....couple of muggings on the ice but that's to be expected.
Just sayin'

Heading into a bit of freetime, so just a heads up that I'm uploading old Syracuse games on YouTube again....
SU v. Adelpi 1992.

Re: Syracuse 2019
Syracuse v. Yale 1992 NCAA Quarters....
Re: Syracuse 2019
Once again, much appreciated, a fan. Nice way to open, a couple of Ws for the Cuse.
The first ten or so minutes of the Adelphi game is crazy, ball is on the turf more than in anyone's stick.
Couldn't remember who won it all that year, knew if it was the 90s it was either Princeton or Cuse though.

Re: Syracuse 2019
Clips of glory days are enjoyable to view but not pertinent to Syracuse 2019 . Their 19 schedule was just announced, some high hurdles to jump. They have some talented youngsters but team seemed to play in spurts last year. A couple of big wins on road yet some flat performances at home .Need to quickly settle and become more consistent or could be tough year with that schedule.

Great game a fan...thanks.a fan wrote:Syracuse v. Yale 1992 NCAA Quarters....
Any chance you can find the game vs Hopkins in semis following week? Cuse avenges early-season loss to Jays to earn the dubious honor of meeting Princeton in finals confused5
Although he was quiet vs Yale, for some reason I remember John Barr playing a great game vs HOP?
Re: Syracuse 2019
I do indeed have that game tech37, I'll upload it asap.
Happy Holidays, everyone!

Re: Syracuse 2019
I would never post these during the season.....if these cites are unwelcome, let me know, and I'll stop posting them.dense wrote:Clips of glory days are enjoyable to view but not pertinent to Syracuse 2019 .
Regardless, I will be posting more old SU games at Youtube over the winter.
Re: Syracuse 2019
Not pertinent?...who cares! It's December dense...enjoy some lax history.
Obviously you have my vote a fan.

Unwelcome? No, the more gems you show us from your treasure chest, the more enjoyed and appreciated.a fan wrote:I would never post these during the season.....if these cites are unwelcome, let me know, and I'll stop posting them.dense wrote:Clips of glory days are enjoyable to view but not pertinent to Syracuse 2019 .

I didn't quite understand that pertinent part either.
Re: Syracuse 2019
My salut1 - Dense may be an appropriate moniker icon_puke . Appreciate all the old snippets as a long time season ticket holder. To DMac - you just gotta smile, be frisked, and put with he crap at the Dome. My season seats have been the same since they left Coyne and I can't give them up; agree its a tad unnecessary, BUT ...
Re: Syracuse 2019
Not a dig by any means.
I know the Syracuse fandom was holding out hope Staats
would go to NY.
But.
Seems like the correct move for Staats.
Pro. San Diego.
Whether that franchise makes it there is another matter.

Re: Syracuse 2019
Congrats to those Cuse football boys, pretty darn nice showing beating WVA 34-18 in the Camping World Bowl game. Been a long time since there's been any kind of positive buzz about Cuse football but Dino's done one heck of a job turning that around. Guy's done everything he said he was going to do so far, sittin' in a darn good seat and lookin' pretty (unlike the hoops coach), and the fans are lovin' him. Very likable guy. Well done, coach, hats off to you and your boys.
Szmyt seems to have been forgotten in all the press I've seen. The walk on, AA, Lou Groza Award winner was again flawless (guy's money). Put the ball through the uprights when Cuse needed points, kept the Orange well within striking distance when points were needed. Well done, Mr. Szymt.
I never knew this until yesterday....quite a different kind of situation in the world of college football.

Re: Syracuse 2019
Babers has done a great job .players respond to him.. Syracuse was fortunate and wise to retain him. Their success and his system should attract even more talented recruits going forward. Spot on about Szymt, kickers tend to be unheralded but both him and punter/ko specialist Hofrichter provide Cuse a significant edge and both will be back next year. Believe Szymt has a real future in NFL .
Re: Syracuse 2019
Alright, since it's deader than dead in here, here's a few more vintage games I uploaded this month.... grab some popcorn and enjoy.

Anyone know what happened to the Syracusefan.com forum? It’s been for hours.
Re: Syracuse 2019
Hmmm, looks like maybe a few posts were lost in the shuffle of the website up-grade. In any case, Cuse lost a few players to injury, in a scrimmage tied with Vermont 11-11 and beat Hofstra 12-5. Yale next.
