Re: Brown 2020

Bad L in a game the Bears controlled. What happened to the face-off rotation today? Providence is a good team, so next weekend is a great opportunity to right the ship. There’s plenty of talent on this team and they should compete in the stacked Ivy League. The arrow is up for the 2020 Bears so I’m ...

Re: Brown 2020

Yes, regular rotation with (in general) 2 others. Also fo wing. It appears he has the green light on the offensive end of the field too when he brings it across. Looks like a 2 way player eventually, asset in the clearing game. Don't know much about Stony Brook this year. Like Brown they were young...

Re: Ivy League 2020

At the end of last year I thought Teat and Sowers were neck and neck for the best offensive players in the league. Watching Sowers tonight, have to believe he is the best player in the country. The load he carries for that Princeton O is a little scary, but if he can keep it up they’ll be in any game.

Re: Brown 2020

Good win against an opponent who did't appear to have a very sharp day. Never take a Tuesday win for granted though. Shooting much better. Agree with the above, lots of guys playing early--possible 2nd line middies played more than 1st in Q's 1 & 2, and produced. Goss with two strong games in a ...

Re: Brown 2020

Too bad this one wasn’t streamed. Stats don’t always tell the story but looks like Brown dominated most areas outside of shooting %. 11/60 shooting with the Q goalie making 21 saves to keep it close. Quiet day from the midfield. Very promising for the frosh fogo 9-12 at the dot.

Re: IVY League Tournament headed to Hofstra?

Only helps recruiting to play more games on Long Island IMO. I’d bet coaches are good with the change.

Re: Ivy League 2020

I don’t feel so confident in assuming that Yale/Penn/Cornell/Brown will be the four into the ILT. The only prediction I’m willing to make is that 5 Ivy Teams will be ranked in the Top 20 at times this year. I expect Yale and Penn, maybe Cornell to be Top 10 and Brown and Princeton to make appearance...

Re: Brown 2020

I like a lot of the unranked Freshman as well as the 20/21 recruits. 3/4 All Ivy players on Brown were unranked recruits who earned honors as underclassmen—don’t really see recruiting as a liability for the staff, just the opposite. They do need to get that stud who has AA teamer type talent though....

Curious—did Gunty join Team Israel for their scrimmages vs Harvard and BU? If so how’d that go?

Article of a few recruits from Torrey Pines CA—notes Christian Rasmussen has committed to Brown. Small crease player put in 62 goals as a junior.

Re: Brown 2020

Not sure there was a lot to do this Summer for 2020 grads as the class was largely set. Would’ve been nice to hold onto the pole who flipped to Harvard, but the class is maybe 10 deep as-is. Room for 2/3 more kids? Sure coaches were hard at work prepping for 21’s. Daly has had some really good flips...

Don’t think it’s a coincidence that OSU and Yale have 9/30 on the squad, fwiw.

Re: ~The MIAA “A” 2020~

Deerfield had a few PGs out there, but no one really stood out as a superstar. One out of Cali setup some nice goals in the Championship. They looked to be strong players.

Re: Brown 2020

Nice haul. Had not previously seen that Glavin set the Mountain Lakes career points record. 3 AA’s and the Nassau POY is as good of a Long Island class as Brown has had. This doesn’t quite align with the InsideLacrosse list, I wonder if any of those guys are headed to Brown as walk ons or if they sw...

Re: Brown 2020

So much returns for the Bears. They should have a strong year. Aughavin seemed to be taking the next step at the end of the year, and Geppert was very good. Return almost all the starters and some really good ssdm’s. Not sure who might step up from the current roster, but Moshyedi saw a lot of time ...

Re: Yale 2020

I always root for Yale, aside from the Saturdays when they face Brown. Really respect what Shay has done and how he has built the program. But purely from the perspective of a lacrosse fan, it’ll be a lot harder root for the Bulldogs if Gray transfers in. Love seeing a program grow into a power. Acc...

Re: Coaching Carousel Post-2019 Season

No idea if Ivy AD’s consider long-term ambition in a hire. It’s one thing to find the right guy with the right staff, it’s another to keep them from jumping to an ACC/Big Ten when it presents itself. We’ve seen Tillman, Tiffany, and Tambroni leave for greener pastures—I would not group Tierney in he...
