Re: NCAC 2024

Congratulations to the eighteen players from the NCAC who were named to the USILA All-American teams...as expected, Denison placed seven, OWU five, and Kenyon and Wooster, three apiece. The good news for the rest of the conference is that five of the Denison players have graduated (Fisher, Crowley, ...

Re: NCAC 2024

Tufts also mauled Stevenson 27-7...thought to be an 'eastern power program' by some.

Re: NCAC 2024

I got 'no dog' in the discussion of Denison's coaching staff. Certainly the choice of the Bartletts as assistant coaches was unconventional, but both are knowledgeable and smart. There are several examples where female coaches are making their way into both the NBA and the NFL staffs. I can't say if...

Re: NCAC 2024

Good luck to the Kenyon Owls vs. Denison. I want to see a great, close game and let the best team win. Ned...I agree the Big Red shouldn't take Kenyon lightly....they fought and hustled and found a way to win vs. OWU. No sense revisiting what happened in the final two minutes, the Bishops players le...

Re: NCAC 2024

That's a pretty good list...I would add in LSM-DSSM Trent Schulte (two-time AA)and DSSM Peter Hamblett, who was an First Team All-American and D3 Short-Stick Defensive Middie of the Year in 2018.

Re: NCAC 2024

Congrats to Denison....cranking up the ride in 3Q turned a 5-4 deficit into 10-5 lead. I was screaming at TV (Roku) for Plantholt to call a TO at 7-5 and try and fix it. Eight failed clears by Bishops and easy transition goals by Big Red turned the tide. Hope they meet again in the final. I believe ...

Re: NCAC 2024

Old fashioned butt-kicking by the Big Red, 23-6 over Wooster. Let's see if Scots show up on Tuesday vs. Kenyon in the battle for 3rd place. OWU might have been the fat cat with the mouse, finally pulling away from Albion in the 4Q to win 15-8. Denison also had a problem with the Britons way back in ...

Re: NCAC 2024

Fann, Ned....I will be following the Denison-Wooster game today closely, since I am curious to see if the Scots can hang with The Big Red for at least a half or so. We all want to see the NCAC improve as a conference and Kenyon, Wooster and Oberlin have made strides bringing in better players and im...

Re: NCAC 2024

The Bishops seem to be peaking at the right time. They had great defensive effort vs. Wooster -- only 11 SOG and 3 goals scored. They also had 18 CTO, 43 GBs, and no penalties -- despite Plantholt substituting freely with 33 players getting playing time. The ride has also been effective -- Wooster h...

Re: NCAC 2024

Nice win by OWU....14-9 over Kenyon. After a 3-3 1Q, the Bishop offense got rolling in the 2Q and took a 7-3 lead at halftime. They extended the lead to 10-4 in the 3rd, when the Owls mounted a comeback during a rash of OWU penalties, and closed to 10-7 early in the 4Q. The Bishops answered with the...

Re: NCAC 2024

Kenyon (8-4 overall, 2-1 in NCAC) vs. OWU (7-3, 4-0) under the lights at Selby Stadium is the NCAC Game of the Week. The Bishops hold a huge edge in the lifetime series (66 wins and 17 losses), but the Owls have won three of the past four -- including the last two playoff games. Looking at common op...

Re: NCAC 2024

I predict Wooster by +4. Oberlin has some young talent, but is a year away. Wooster better build on this season, because with JCU coming in, they probably move down a spot in the NCAC pecking order.

Re: NCAC 2024

White...Wabash is getting better and it will be interesting to see how they measure up against DePauw, Oberlin, Wooster and Wittenberg. I thought OWU showed the effects of the long bus ride in the first half, and one of Wabash's goals leaked through the goalkeeper's legs and barely rolled over the g...

Re: NCAC 2024

Ned...I agree that new stadium is NOT showcased on the otherwise excellent Big Red Network broadcasts. The camera view is from the press box and shows the teams are on the far side of the field, where there are no stands at all. Looks like no one is at the game.

Re: NCAC 2024

Welcome back, Ned. Denison is still the team to beat, no argument about that from me. The surprise team so far might be Wooster (8-3), who beat up on Wittenberg 16-6, and has a good goalie, All-American on Defense and and a high-scoring attack unit. OWU is coming together, and has two exciting new f...

Re: NCAC 2024

York (2-6) at Denison (4-4) on Friday, 3/29 (4PM) might be one of the more interesting out-of-conference games left this season.... Both these teams are perennial Top 20 teams that played very ambitious out-of-conference schedules this year, and came away with mostly losses that did nothing to embel...

Re: NCAC 2024

Looks like the keys to the Kenyon loss came in turnovers, failed clears, and lost face-offs -- especially in the first half. Score was 11-4 at halftime, and The Big Red glided to a 20-10 victory. What's with the new Scarlet & Gray uniforms on Denison....don't they know those colors are owned by ...
