Re: Cross country travel advantages/disadvantages
I don't understand why schools will have such high travel budgets for non-revenue sports. Can't they just form/join a different conference then the football/basketball that they're in for the other sports? Keep them closer to home so they spend less? Of course it's not in the fans interest but seems...

Re: Games Today
Dstats.PNG Can someone help me understand the stats for D players? I get GB for ground ball & CT for caused turnovers, what are the other stats? I think SV% & S are saves which only apply to goalies. I find it hard in this sport to understand through stats only who is a good defensive player.

Re: Stanford Player Gets Red Card for Hit
18-19 year old kid makes a mistake. Not exactly uncommon. Will have to sit out a game and you can see on film one of the senior players clearly talking to her after the incident. She let her team down and I am sure she knows it. Plenty of punishment for a freshman IMHO. Clearly a very talented play...

Re: Miscellaneous Topics 2023
Heard this on the radio regarding Caitlin Clark the other day. She is literally the face of college basketball - Men's OR Women's! Name me a bigger name on the men's side. Pretty amazing. She sells out every arena she enters. I looked up tickets to the Iowa - MD game last November since MD was the ...

Re: Miscellaneous Topics 2023
Not Lax but since the season hasn't started & this thread is Misc topics.... I've been watching Caitlin Clark (Iowa WBB) the last 2 seasons and it's been so much fun. I credit my daughter playing WLax with getting me into women's sports I never paid any attention before that. So now that I like ...

Re: Potential new programs
I'm not sure how the demographic issues colleges are facing impacts the decisions for athletics. I hear from so many people in academics that enrollment has fallen off a cliff and many small schools will close. As an outsider I want to blame the highly paid administrators who've been spending like ...

Re: OuttaNowhereWregget--Redux
I agree with spidey that IMG is not a draw if you already live in a lacrosse hotbed. What is you live in Florida, Cali, Georgia, Oklahoma, etc away from any real good lacrosse clubs or high schools? The draw of lacrosse is different than football, basketball and volleyball that are not even close t...

Re: UNC 2024 Injuries
Broken tibia! Ouch!
How are you going to come back this season with that injury? Maybe it's a small fracture or something but that's sort of an unusual one. ACL and foot/ankle injuries unfortunately I hear about all the time in Lax.

Re: OuttaNowhereWregget--Redux
I find it funny coming here as a relatively new women's Lax fan (after being a college football fan my whole life) to hear people talk about ND being overly hyped  The football team is the same way every year, starts with a high ranking and lots of media coverage....doesn't live up to expectati...

Re: Northwestern "Hard Times"
Maybe the concern regarding the girls plans after graduation is just part of the anxiety a lot of parents face with the cost of tuition these days, I know I'm anxious. I'd be very proud if my kid graduates from a school like Northwestern but I also believe a degree in an "unfortunate" maj...

Re: Northwestern "Hard Times"
Just watched it with my 25 and 27 daughters. My 27 summed it up pretty well. "Great team, but those girls clearly don't give a darn (she didnt say darn) about school. Cross them off my list." I'm intrigued by this. May I ask what your daughter saw/perceived in the documentary that she arr...

Re: Miscellaneous Topics 2023
I just looked at my "Year End" email from IWLCA Recruits, which had a listing of the Top 3 most favorited programs on their site. Here's the ranking. #1. Clemson #2. Duke #3. Coastal Carolina University I was a bit surprised. Yeah. I was perplexed at #3. Last year it was Clemson UNC Duke ...

Re: US Lax Magazine Preseason Rankings
Penn State has all the ingredients to perform at a high level in the years to come. WLax in PA is growing as fast as it can. Great campus, huge brand name, and what recruit wouldn't want to go to a whiteout game in the fall.

Re: Recruiting
If the overriding decisions in women's lacrosse are mostly based on academic prestige, then Duke and the Ivies would be regulars winning lacrosse games over Memorial Day weekend. I would not be surprised if Duke is second to last in ACC this year, even though it has it's pick of top players every y...

Re: Recruiting
I've recently saw a college choice that worried me as a father of a young player. An older player we know was really set on playing in college which is awesome but didn't get recruited even in D3. She finally decided on a poor academics D3 school because she could play lax there, but in doing so tur...

Re: 2024 Season Predictions
you're right they hit on a couple players in the 2017-2018 classes. Bur Relax77 is also right. i had Loyola as a loser in 2025 recruiting. For all the progress they've made on the field, they havn't translated it to recruiting compared to programs like Dartmouth, Denver, JMU, Hopkins, etc. They hav...
