Re: Cornell 2024

Too much discussion on what fans from another generation would argue over - "who is better Mantle or Mays." I'd prefer to focus on the next two Ivy games. Why?: The Big 10 will get 3 NCAA bids (1 AQ and 2 at larges) - MD, PSU, and Hopkins -The ACC will get 4 bids (1 AQ and 3 at larges) - ...

Re: Brown 2024

One example of an intra-IVY head coaching poach. I don't recall the circumstances but Gaudet is a Dartmouth alum. https://dartmouthsports.com/sports/mens-ice-hockey/roster/coaches/bob-gaudet/1587 Another example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glen_Miller_(basketball) Didn't go well for the Quakers....

Re: Cornell 2024

Cornell has had some success with smaller players recently. Neither Jeff Teat nor Gavin Adler would be called an imposing physical presence, until you watch them play!

Shay doesn't need any help! But Jones is one of the best in the business.

Re: Cornell 2024

All right… I’m mentally coming to terms with the reality of the penalties and the loss. So a new line of questions for all of you… Any good coach is going to look for things to build upon and things to improve. So, if you were a Cornell coach, what are 2-3 things you think the team did well and can...

Re: Cornell 2024

From the game notes and IL's calendar, it looks like the Denver streaming service is the only way to watch the game. I wonder if there are alternative was to watch it. The streaming service is 8.95 a month. I guess that it's possible to sign up and cancel after the game. They could make it hard on ...

Re: Cornell 2024

Anyone else having awful jerky video? Audio is fine, but video doesn’t is jittery. The feed is pretty bad. Anybody know why Leonard is not calling the game? Don't know the reason, but Barry has not called a basketball game all year. Heard from a very reliable source that Barry has some health issue...

Re: Cornell 2024

And the very young ice hockey team is ranked 13th and sits 15th in the pairwise rankings. They beat 7th ranked Quinnipiac last weekend and finally beat Harvard this past weekend. It's going to be touch and go for an NCAA tourney bid if they don't get the ECAC AQ. Only 16 teams make the tournament a...

Re: Cornell 2023

Petrakis is below 50% for the year… and actually has a worse percentage than last year. Not sure if this is a trend, but Buczek has only played him in six faceoffs the last two games. By contrast, Cascadden is at 63%. And to your point about HS faceoff skills translating to D1, Cascadden was the #2...

Barry and Tom called him "game-to-game." With all respect to Dartmouth, this was probably a safe game to rest him.

Re: Cornell 2023

I went to that 1970 Dartmouth - Penn game at Franklin Field, my friend’s uncle was Dartmouth so he got tickets. This game was to close out the undefeated 1970 season. What I recall is, that Dartmouth team was a machine. 28-0 in front of 42,000 fans. Philadelphia Eagles played there last season ther...

Re: DI Stadiums That Have Tracks Surrounding The Playing Field

Schoellkopf Field (Cornell) does not have one, at least according to Google Maps. I could have sworn I distinctly remembered the 'kopf having a track. There's certainly enough room for one. Did it get removed, or has it really never had one? It definitely had a track back in the 80's, but it appear...

The roster lists the following as Grad Students or Fifth Years (you have to assume they are all out of eligibility): Piatelli, Doria, Licciardi, Wolf, Bardwell, Bartolotto, and Tria. A salute to all those guys for coming back. I know some of the seniors have a year of eligibility left and are report...

Re: Virginia v Maryland

Maryland is playing a different sport than everyone else. I’m sure Tillman will reload with the portal following this championship season. The scraps that fall off the Maryland 5 star laden roster will find spots at Towson, Stony Brook and other mid majors. I’m hoping someone will give them a game ...
