Re: New Jersey 2024

I see Lawrenceville beat their main rival the Hill School 25-6 today. I hope they are very proud of themselves. I haven’t seen a discussion on this board, as was somewhat common on Laxpower, over the lack of sportsmanship on running up the score to embarrass an opponent. I obviously didn’t care for ...

Re: New England West 2024

It would also have been nice if it could have shown the scoreboard every now and then. I watched the 2nd and 3rd periods with no idea what the score or time was. Finally, the ball went into the left corner and I got a brief glimpse. I think it was 13 - 3 then. Nobles had a lot of offensive opportuni...

Re: New England West 2024

I was under the impression that Tsai is the reason that Posner is there. If so and if he is funding focused scholarships, then I think it’s fair to say Tsai is the difference. The rest is ancillary to his support.

Re: Dartmouth 2024

Atticus, If you are close to the program and seemingly positive, why do you think he was let go? 2 wins in the Ivies, being on the receiving end of some large losses, and seemingly a fair amount of noise about his style (my limited experiences have been consistent with DCIII’s including a father go...

Interesting how things have evolved. Not one Ivy League player on any of the 3 teams.

Re: Dartmouth 2023

Not sure this was an additive post. Why did Ryan get singled out for your displeasure and not so many others in the game? But perhaps you have consistently made negative comments about people on these pages and I missed them. Mercer apparently disagrees with your assessment. First, I was responding...

Re: New England West 2022

[/quote] To expand on this a bit, and not trying to be too Wick focused or reaching Primetime’s lather but this rise to the top has been waiting in plain sight for a while. There are obviously a ton of fantastic laxers in Fairfield and Westchester Co. There are also a ton of parents who want their k...

Re: Ivy League 2022

an Ivy win this year wouldn't be a total surprise to me. Perhaps true, but what a disappointingly low expectation. Towers never had the talent Wilson inherited, though he probably didn’t have the chops to do much had he had it. Wilson crushed morale on a very talented, though thin roster, culminati...

Re: Ivy League 2022

Doesn’t Dartmouth have a requirement that all students must do a study abroad semester? If they do, I applaud them, but preventing lax players from practicing or playing every semester does put the team at a relative disadvantage compared to teams that don’t have the requirement. Not quite. Sophomo...

Re: Ivy League 2022

Callahan is in his 8th year. At what point does the new AD say enough and start over? Sowell built a strong team. Wilson destroyed it. Towers simply didn’t have what it takes even though I liked him. Callahan has been a total disaster on seemingly every level. Then again, other than football, the Ad...

Re: ISL 2021

As an old Laxpower follower, starting in the early aughts after the Inside Lacrosse forum faded, I just wanted to thank you Laxxal for all your contributions. You pretty singularly have supported the ISL all these years, and I have gotten a lot out of it. As my kids have have all grown up and I don’...

Re: Dartmouth 2022

Hard to imagine anyone who was involved in the program during the Wilson years would have a lot of positives to speak of, capped off with the very amazing challenge with the team captain after the Vermont loss. I know people never say negative things at a funeral, but really! The 04 and 05 teams had...

Re: Dartmouth 2021

Interestingly, Tufts has according to Wikipedia around 1200 more undergrads than Dartmouth. Clearly, D3 and D1 are distinguished by something other that the presumed size of the student body.

Re: New England West 2021

I really thought the days of Laxpower where teenagers would post silly posts was past on this board. So we no longer care if we’re talking apples to apples, best on best, because we care so much about winning a scrimmage! Let’s forget analysis. Who needs it?

Re: NESCAC 2020

2 In the early 2000s every year Middlebury would play Dartmouth in a “scrimmage “ conducted under game conditions. Middlebury was winning D3 championships and Dartmouth was often ranked back then in the top 10 of D1. The games were remarkably competitive with Middlebury winning often enough that th...
