Re: Johns Hopkins Coach Search
All these rumors and "sources say" reports remind me that in truth, nobody really knows what the heck is going on. I was curious about how some of the rumors played out last year with a few jobs so I looked back at a few message board threads and popular social media accounts known for br...

Re: Transfer Portal
Can't vouch for this...but it was posted on Twitter a few hours ago. Dave Franklin @DaveFranklin97 Michael Sowers has entered the transfer portal and is rumored to be eyeing a 5th year at the Syracuse where he will be reunited with former Princeton Offensive Coordinator, Pat March while pursuing a g...

Re: Tewaaraton 2020
Sowers and it's not remotely close. 9.4 points per game. Next closest was 6.9. Princeton was 5-0, garnering #1 votes with wins over defending champions Virginia, Hopkins, and Rutgers. And he only had 10 total turnovers through 5 games (2 per game), given how much he carries the ball that's a good n...

Re: Princeton 2020
Sowers. Does he come back ? He passed 300 career points, one of the top NCAA scorers. How do you replicate that wonderful start the team had this year, though ? I’m thinking he moves on. I have no special insider knowledge, but it stands to reason Michael Sowers pretty much had his post PU plans ma...

Re: Princeton 2020
Nice win for PU saturday. Hopkins is down, but was great to see the midfield get involved in the scoring and show diversity there. Peters with another strong game which bodes really well for his progression. Sowers is the only guy I know who can have a "quiet" 9 point game haha. Hopefully...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
Hey JHU board - supposing at the end of this season the school and Coach Pietramala come to a parting of the ways. I've heard Hobart's Greg Raymond mentioned as a replacement, but (correct me if I'm wrong) I believe Raymond is more a defensive guy than an offensive innovator - kind of like Coach P.h...

Re: Princeton 2020
Congrats Tigers!!! Big time. A lot of players on that team. A lot. Congrats to the Tigers for an all around great win, but most especially a big tip of the hat to coach Matt Madalon. I've been saying on this board and elsewhere that Matt was a nice guy but his teams were keeping it close for 3 q's ...

Re: Princeton 2020
Almost everyone knows that I am a diehard Cornell Big Red Fan, and have had the incredible pleasure to watch Micheal Sowers many times LIVE and on the Ivy Network etc., and that dude is without a doubt the SCARIEST attackman for any dfefense to face and I feel for the D-man that gets that assignmen...

Re: Princeton 2020
As far as Princeton goes in 2020 - their MO is keeping it close for 3 q's and then losing the 4th. Matt Madalon is a nice guy but I don't see much changing this season and I don't see them beating Penn or Yale or getting to the NCAA's. And what every Tiger supporter should think about is 2021. We ca...

Re: Coaching Carousel Pre-2020 Season
Here are the years that Princeton won the national lacrosse championship. In parenthesis are the football team's record for those same years. There are a limited number of "spots" as you say. And if more of those spots go to one sport, fewer are available for the others. Hence, no 10-0 Pr...

Re: Coaching Carousel Pre-2020 Season
Laxrules, sounds like you know what you're talking about with some inside dope - me, I'm on the outside trying to figure things out. I hear you when you say Madalon isn't the issue, but the admin is. I've heard that before, though, and I'm not sure I buy it. Let's take a look at these items one by o...

Re: Coaching Carousel Pre-2020 Season
Princeton OC heads to Syracuse - after school starts! Can't imagine this is a good thing, but I'm not on the inside in Tiger Land - anyone know what's going on? IMHO Princeton is not only a long, long, long way from another NCAA title, but winning an Ivy again seems kind of far-fetched, or beating Pe...

Re: Coaching Carousel Pre-2020 Season
So what made them get religion? Probably many things, but I’m sure Yale’s recent success caught Harvard’s attention. As I have noted more than once, Harvard built a top-25-caliber engineering program in less than 10 years after decades of mediocrity. Once Harvard gets serious about something, they ...

Re: Coaching Carousel Pre-2020 Season
The reality, unfortunately, is that the Harvard position is a star-crossed assignment. Between off field sensitivities, a new university president, major donor pressure and a ramped up Ivy League, it represents a significant career risk. I'm sure Harvard will land a capable candidate, but others wi...

Re: Coaching Carousel Pre-2020 Season
So Chips you’re assuming it’s JT? This delay not only hurting Harvard recruiting, but other schools as well. What are JT and KC telling potential Amherst and Lehigh prospects? Who are they recruiting for? My money for the Harvard HC is Sowell. HC and Ivy experience. Able to walk into an HC job righ...

Re: Coaching Carousel Pre-2020 Season
Does the length of time Harvard is taking to make an announcement tell us anything? Maybe a hire that is more complicated than would be typical, like a coach whose wife has to relocate her medical practice? BU Twitter We're thrilled to announced that Ryan Polley has agreed to a multi-year contract ...

Re: Coaching Carousel Pre-2020 Season
Update on Harvard's Search Harvard is getting closer to naming the program's next head coach, though the exact timeline is dynamic and unclear. A number of candidates were brought to Cambridge for full-day interviews between Tuesday and Thursday, with a handful more on campus the previous week. Acc...

Re: Coaching Carousel Pre-2020 Season
Gilardi is an excellent choice for Stony Brook. My gut tells me that he'll do some great things, be very successful, and that he'll stick around for a good long run. He's worked with some great coaches. Very well suited for this. Another new HC hire with ties to Ohio State, BTW. Wonder who the curr...

Re: Coaching Carousel Pre-2020 Season
Spot on analysis! No way Kirwan risks going to Amherst. Not sure I would call it a risk. 6 figure salary, full time assistants, top notch facilities, fantastic campus best academics, history, but this was their first long run, so a lot to build on. And, he is a NESCAC guy, so he gets it. You're con...
