I like Green Day. They get away with a lot more dirty language than Rock and Roll bands from my era (or before).
I notice they bring on an extra guitarist for their live performance.

Unfortunately being an older guy, this song is closer to my anthem:

How I miss those days when the real LIR was around.

The richness and range of Ella Fitzgerald are on full display here. An amazing artist who understood voice as an instrument.

Threw this great song in on my last road trip to my daughter's lax game. Rocked the original back in my single days but enjoyed this version as well.

If we need that extra push over the cliff, ya know what we do...eleven, exactly.

Whatever by Godsmack

Interesting tale behind the song: "That's Sully's [Erna] answer to his girlfriend when we were going through the whole struggle between rehearsing five nights a week, playing on the weekends and trying to keep a relationship going at the same time. We were really starting to take off, and it's hard to go through a relationship with a girl and have a band take all your time, plus we worked regular jobs, so there was probably 10 minutes of the day for them."

Maybe for the last six months I've been listening to James McMurtry. How a prep from Woodberry Forest picked up what he has to give I have no idea. A great lyricist in the order of John Prine and Dylan. Superior stuff.

The Allman Brothers Band Live at Fillmore East.
One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever created. The album mesmerizes me today as it did yesterday. I listen to this album multiple times per week. It's a great album to chill with. It's an album you can take off to other places as you listen to Duane Allman and Dickey Betts tear down the house with guitars being played the way they were made to be played. The drumming is spectacular as is Gregg's voice.
This was a special band caught on the right night and it makes my soul cry out in joy every time this masterpiece is played.
I love the Grateful Dead but damn, the Allman Brothers, if there is a god he loves the Brothers.
