I'm all set for that!!!!! :D

Comparing Percolator Coffee vs Drip
Now that you know the basics of percolator coffee vs drip coffee, let’s dive into the differences:

coffee cup

Flavor
The drip coffee method produces a cup of coffee with a more subtle flavor than percolator coffee.

Pouring hot water over the ground coffee beans and waiting for the liquid to drip through a paper or metal filter allows more of the bean’s flavor to be retained, giving you a smooth cup of coffee.

In contrast, percolator coffee is known for its bolder flavor profile.

The water that cycles through the grounds extracts more oils and soluble elements, giving the coffee a richer flavor. This can be great if you’re looking for something with a bit more kick, but some people find it too overpowering.

Still loving my new percolator, it's not debatable (to me), perked is better than dripped, absolutely noticeably better...should've bought one 10,000 cups ago.

Don't compare Fresh Press vs Percolator. ;)

This place is directly across the street from the Cobblestone.
Forecast for Monday is 80 degrees and sunny. If you're a gambler
bet that I'll be on the porch on Monday. I'll walk over to the upscale
coffee shop where the uppities like to hang out and see if they have
French press coffee (they don't show it on their menu), if they do I'll
get a cup and try it. I'll take it across the street to drink it though.

^ those prices are rather affordable compared to cafés here in Lake Wobegone ~ I bet the coffee's a lot better, too

October 27 is National Black Cat Day! This special day was started in 2011 to remind us of the value of black cats, to dispel prejudices, to encourage people to give a new home to black cats left behind at animal shelters.

We wish you all a restful weekend and a pleasant Veterans Day.
To the veterans among us, you’ve helped make this world a better place with your courage, sacrifice, and dedication to our country.

Thanks, youth, I never feel deserving of such high praise or as if I did anything special but I do appreciate the thought.

Thanks, DMac. I work in a 99% male industry. When I ask guys how they're doing and they say, "Another day in paradise." I always say, "Absolutely – I wouldn't wanna live in any other country in the world." Thanks to veterans like you – I can say that.

DMac, you do have a very good memory. Yes, I answered the call and served in Army. I couldn’t say anything better than what you posted. You spoke for me and I would suggest many others, who feel the same way. I usually attend an annual Veterans Day ceremony hosted by our county, where the governor, an admiral or a general will be the guest speaker. Before the speaker begins, they ask any WWII veterans in attendance to be recognized and there are sometimes 2 or 3 in attendance. They then recognize Korean War veterans to stand if possible and be recognized. On to the Vietnam Vets and so on. I often get to meet some of those men and women and I mostly just listen.

YA, I’ll echo DMac’s comment, thank you and others like you, for your thoughts.

Recycling from a year ago ...

Veterans Day, Armistice Day, Remembrance Day

I went into a public 'ouse to get a pint o' beer,
The publican 'e up an' sez, " We serve no red-coats here."
The girls be'ind the bar they laughed an' giggled fit to die,
I outs into the street again an' to myself sez I:
O it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' " Tommy, go away " ;
But it's " Thank you, Mister Atkins," when the band begins to play
The band begins to play, my boys, the band begins to play,
O it's " Thank you, Mister Atkins," when the band begins to play.

I went into a theatre as sober as could be,
They gave a drunk civilian room, but 'adn't none for me;
They sent me to the gallery or round the music-'alls,
But when it comes to fightin', Lord! they'll shove me in the stalls!
For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' " Tommy, wait outside ";
But it's " Special train for Atkins " when the trooper's on the tide
The troopship's on the tide, my boys, the troopship's on the tide,
O it's " Special train for Atkins " when the trooper's on the tide.

Yes, makin' mock o' uniforms that guard you while you sleep
Is cheaper than them uniforms, an' they're starvation cheap.
An' hustlin' drunken soldiers when they're goin' large a bit
Is five times better business than paradin' in full kit.
Then it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an` Tommy, 'ow's yer soul? "
But it's " Thin red line of 'eroes " when the drums begin to roll
The drums begin to roll, my boys, the drums begin to roll,
O it's " Thin red line of 'eroes, " when the drums begin to roll.

We aren't no thin red 'eroes, nor we aren't no blackguards too,
But single men in barricks, most remarkable like you;
An' if sometimes our conduck isn't all your fancy paints,
Why, single men in barricks don't grow into plaster saints;
While it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an` Tommy, fall be'ind,"
But it's " Please to walk in front, sir," when there's trouble in the wind
There's trouble in the wind, my boys, there's trouble in the wind,
O it's " Please to walk in front, sir," when there's trouble in the wind.

You talk o' better food for us, an' schools, an' fires, an' all:
We'll wait for extry rations if you treat us rational.
Don't mess about the cook-room slops, but prove it to our face
The Widow's Uniform is not the soldier-man's disgrace.
For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an` Chuck him out, the brute! "
But it's " Saviour of 'is country " when the guns begin to shoot;
An' it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' anything you please;
An 'Tommy ain't a bloomin' fool - you bet that Tommy sees!
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red.

Absolutely love this poem, thanks for recycling.
Reminds me of the welcome the Vietnam vets got
when they returned home. While I believe there are
many who are sincere when they say "thank you for
your service", I believe this poem expresses the true
sentiments of most who mouth those words. JMHO.

Amen. When I was back in USA after Vietnam deployment, there weren't a hell of a lot of "Thank you's" awaiting. You were more likely to be attacked and reviled by the civilians. And I don't like people telling me now "Thank you for your service." Not at all. It would have meant something in the 60's and early 70's; it means nothing to me now. And it's just talk. I imagine it comes mostly from people who would never dream of enlisting....

And for future veterans.....My grandson Logan is in his last month of Army boot camp down at Fort Moore in Georgia. The wife and I will travel there in mid-December to see him and his buddies graduate...He will then try to become a member of the Special Forces....
