I know it is still mid-August, but kids are almost back to school and lacrosse will be coming up in the next month or so. Anyone have insight for fall scrimmages, storylines to look forward to, players to watch, positions where teams need to fill and see extended looks at players in the fall, etc.

Let's get it going!

In New Haven, fall ball will likely feature a battle royale for the starting goalie spot. Late in the season, incumbent Paquette (who will be a senior in 2025) split time with Hugh Conrad (who will be a junior in 2025), while in fall ball incoming frosh 5-star rated Ben Freidman will probably be given a full chance to compete for the job. Paquette retained the starting spot through the close of the 2024 campaign, but some Yale followers thought Conrad was better. On paper, Freidman is as strong a goalie recruit as Shay has brought in for some years, and in both 2018 and 2022 Shay was willing to start a first-year over a goalie with Eli experience. And 2025 soph George Northrup from California looked good enough in October 2023 to win plaudits, so I suspect that he also goes into fall ball with a real shot at earning the #1 spot.

Providence's East Side will be a point of interest as Brown has a new regime, and hopes to wedge its was into the Ivy top four. From what I've heard 2nd hand, fallball is the trad alumni game and a trip to Rutgers, where last year the previous staff apparently had an "oh $#i+" moment when the squad was thumped.

Actually, every D1 team in the state is worth a look, with very new coaching staffs everywhere: 2023 at Bryant, 2022 at PC.

Are there any fall ball schedules posted yet?
I know Loyola usually has a play day, Hopkins has one, etc

Loyola plays UMBC on Friday 10/4 as part of Alumni Weekend. They then have two scrimmages on 10/26 v unnamed as yet opposition.

Manhattan and St. Bonaventure at Hofstra Oct. 5 for the HEADstrong Foundation Nick Colleluori Classic.
