First post. Rocco Mareno is in the portal. Backup FOGO won around 55% of his face-offs (44 of 86).

Someone didn’t want to be the number 2 face off option again. I get it. Coaches evaluate each day at practice and in games. They were going with the best option to win. Granted things did not go well at the face off x vs Cuse.

Yeah, Towson's recruiting class brings in a strong FOGO and two talented goalies amongst others. I'm guessing he won't be the only player leaving. I'd still prefer a transfer or two. Didn't necessarily need one this season, but it wouldn't hurt to get a big, fast middie and an athletic defenseman.

I like Ben McMullen, he is humongous in goal. Good fundamentals. He was committed to the Hens originally, not sure what happened.
And that goalie from Mass. looks pretty darn good, good size as well.
Plus with Downs, that should be a threesome at goal most teams would be happy to have.

I'd like to see Matt Burnam on the field more.

Any chance the Severna park goalie sees any time next year?

I think with Roussel probably moving to attack or first midfield and Schrier back with Mauer and Villagmoez, I assume he would have to move to midfield. He played a lot against Hampton and even if it's Hampton, scoring 5 goals on 6 shots, is not shabby. Good thing, barring anything unforeseen, that this will be very deep and talented team thanks to the last few recruiting classes. Just would like to see a transfer or two help them become even better.

Webber is returning? I forgot he was injured his first season as was Chop in 2021. Well, they should have a better second unit but either way, Rooster better start somewhere.

Can confirm Webber and Gallagher are returning. Webber will miss the fall due to shoulder surgery. Barsz and Demaio are the two starters not returning. There are options at attack, although a lefty is preferable. Rousell proved he can play. Barsz had a monster season and is really irreplaceable. They are going to need some returning players to step-up on second midfield. Still with the entire 1st midfield returning the Tigers should be formidable again next year.

Potentially a big late addition in Kai Lopez, a middie who takes face-offs. Not a FOGO.

Lopez had a good game on Tuesday in the state semi-finals.
They lost in OT, but Lopez' team wasn't even expected to make the states this year.

A major plus, playing for Frank Urso.
A teammate of Lopez also with a solid game, Andrew Goldt, a 2024 for the Tigers.

I did not notice Lopez as much as some of the other players in the state playoffs,

but he was key to a great stretch where his team scored 3 goals in a matter of seconds off 3 straight face off wins - with about 4 mins left in the game to tie the score - he was definitely stay on after the face off during that stretch.

50 Years Ago, the Towson Tigers Were NCAA Lacrosse Champions

early-1970s: Runk was in the basement laundry room washing the uniforms for the Towson football team on a Sunday night. He coached football and lacrosse at the same time — a different era, of course. There was a concert going on upstairs that night, but Runk wasn’t too interested. So he’s washing the laundry when a guy in a leather jacket with tassels comes in and strikes up a conversation.
They talk for about 20 minutes before the guy gets going. He asks Runk, “What do you do?”
“I’m the head football and lacrosse coach.”
The nice, leather-jacketed man replies: “What the hell kind of school is this that the football coach does the laundry?”

It wasn’t until the next day when Runk saw the program from the previous night’s event. That was The Gambler himself, Kenny Rogers.
