Poll Goal!!!!!!!!

" got it into the stick of Mikey Weisshaar, but Mustang Sally blocked the shot and the ball bounced upfield "

-------------

Bad break, 9 times out of 10, something else would happen rather than a perfect bounce to Loyola's LSM - and they would have gone to another overtime.

2 goals on 12 shots 16% shooting. A lot of those shots easy saves just the same as a turnover.

Weishaar possibly forced some shots vs Loyola. But, he dropped his stick a lot went low making easy saves for Staudt . When you drop your stick and stay low, major advantage to the goalie. Because the goalie stick is already low, reading your stick position. Weisharr is on his way to a good year.

Unfortunate, Hens had a bad start to the 2nd half, again, against Michigan - similar to a couple years ago.

Drexel, 3 and 1 1st time since ????

Five goals against UMBC today with one assist. Yeah, he's low-to-low and drops his stick, but a lot but at times, unguardable.

And just like that, out of conference play is just about over.

Looks to me that the Tigers have done best out of conference, the Navy game being the high point so far.

Luke Downs looks like the top goaltender, has done well against top competition, but also, Drew McGill is at well over 60% save percent.

This conference continues to crank out solid face off men, Constantinides, OJ Morris, Chase Patterson, Connor Beals.

Defensively, Tigers Hens Drexel are all under 10 goals allowed per game.

Nick DeMaio with the 9 points weekend is now top ten in scoring.

Unfortunately so far, few or really maybe one “signature” win(s) among the CAA teams, Tigers over Navy probably,

Hens against Penn, Drexel and Villanova - close, but didn’t pull out either game.

The days of at-large bids from the CAA are long gone. These OOC games serve only to help these teams get ready for the inevitable in-conference rock fights. I believe the last at-large bid in the CAA was Hofstra in 2011 when Delaware won the tournament. That was four years before there was such a thing as Big10 Lacrosse. LONG gone.

As a comparison, some of the other conferences are having the same problem,

A-10 for instance, no signature wins.

In fact, no significant wins this year, ASUN Jacksonville Utah, America East Vermont Albany - nada,
though Bryant does have that win over BU.

You could in most years count on some resounding upsets from these teams, Richmond, Jacksonville.

Tough one for Fairfield against Bryant last night. That said, Coach Baxter has done some good recruiting. I sure hope they give him time to coach several of his own recruits.

2019 Towson won over then #1 Loyola ( w Pat Spencer ). And this week Towson hosts #6 Virginia. The Pontiff is coming to town. Mcabe Millon.
