Hof wins both, monmouth beats Drexel, Monmouth loses to Towson and Drexel loses to Delaware. All extremely possible.
I could see all those things happening, Stony Brook will be difficult.

Good to see Hofstra play at the level they use to play at. Closest to a complete game they have played all year. They have the talent, just never put it together this year. Also the energy from the team was way higher last night than the other games I’ve been to or watched. Years like this happen and it’s unfortunate.

Hopefully they can win these last 2 and have some things fall in their favor to get the 4th seed. If not they return a ton next year and hopefully can get some good freshmen / transfers.

statistically the teams were pretty even except obviously goals scored - hof still struggles on man up, seems like teams dont have to press out just give them the outside shot, still seem to struggle with off the ball coverage on defense , fo? what can u say he was a machine, love to watch no2 and no 12 , boys gain ten pounds for next yr, we aint dead yet we'll see

As far as Hofstra, IMO they go to deep into the clock. The game last night vs Yale , they take the most shots in a game all season (51). They were ultra competitive vs a good Yale team. Look at games stats. They did win a majority of the faceoffs which helps. But this year they have 27 shot clock violations which is an example of how they sit on the ball. Why is the EMO so bad? They sit on the ball w 30 perimeter passes and don’t take advantage of 6 on 5 . But, they played to win vs Yale , not to squeak bye!

Saturday's slate:

Monmouth @ Towson (-7.5) 12:00 P.M.
Hampton @ Hofstra 1:00 P.M.
Delaware (-4.5) @ Drexel 1:00 P.M.
Stony Brook (-2.5) @ Fairfield 1:00 P.M.

Streams are FloLive except for Fairfield's free home stream.

Standings
Towson* 5-0
Delaware* 5-0
Fairfield 3-2
Monmouth 2-3
Drexel 2-3
Stony Brook 2-3
Hofstra 1-4
Hampton 0-5
* Clinched CAA Championship berth

Finishing 4-3 in conference should get a team into the post-season, but there are paths where you could have a 3-way tie at 4-3 among Stony Brook, Fairfield, and Drexel/Monmouth winner and one of them doesn't make post-season. Ex: Stony Brook beats Fairfield and Hofstra, plus Drexel or Monmouth pulls off upset this week and wins their head-to-head in the finale. There are paths for a team to finish 3-4 and make the playoffs via tie breakers -- Hofstra's hope to win out and get some other favorable results.

This week’s games for Delaware and Towson are fairly meaningless. Next week’s head-to-head game will determine the number #1 seed. It’s even more meaningless to Delaware since they can’t host the CAA regardless of seeding. Delaware could tank this week’s game on purpose to get Drexel into the four team playoff if they wanted to. The Hens are an injured team with not a ton of depth. Maybe they’ll rest some guys this week?

It's kind of funny that the teams that care most about seeing Delaware and Towson win are Stony Brook, Fairfield, and Hofstra -- ensure that Monmouth and Drexel can't get to four conference wins.

Sean Donnelly with his best game in a year, since moving from Drexel to Penn State.
He blew an easy goal, a sure dunk, but still running 2nd midfield for PSU.

Odds are good Donnelly makes it to a quarterfinal game, which they couldn't close the deal against Notre Dame in 2021.

Alright, folks! I am a friend of a diehard Hofstra fan. I want to know exactly what to tell her regarding Hofstra's CAA Tournament chances. I know that

After today, Hofstra, Stony Brook, Drexel, and Monmouth are all 2-4 in conference play:

Hofstra has beaten Monmouth, but they lost to Drexel. They play Stony Brook next week.

Drexel has beaten Hofstra, but they lost to Stony Brook. They play Monmouth next week.

Monmouth has beaten Stony Brook, but they lost to Hofstra. They play Drexel next week.

Stony Brook has beaten Drexel, but they lost to Monmouth. They play Hofstra next week.

The above said, if Hofstra beats Stony Brook, what needs to happen for them to earn a spot in the conference tournament?

Hofstra wins and Monmouth wins then Hofstra is in at the 4 seed.
