Just announced that Acacia WW will be the new HC of team USA. Curious if the announcement comes as a surprise or was Levy expected to be replaced? For people in the know: was anyone else in the running?

I think she'll be brilliant, but also interested to hear others' opinions!

No clue if this is a surprise or not.

One would think Levy may have said pass it off to someone else, given how far along she is in her career. I doubt she feels the need to do team USA at this point.

The US team coaches run on cycles. Every Team USA coach is changing this week. New men's coach will be announced tomorrow.

Thanks. Watched. I don't really think of this as corporate speak. She is just answering the question with the sort of generalized blather that such a question naturally elicits. She is plainly a very able coach, former USA team member, and All-American player. Her bona fides for the job are, whether one likes her or not, pretty clear and compelling.

I’m surprised Levy is one and done. If that was her intention, I would have thought she would have announced it after the team won the World Cup two years ago. I guess I’m used to Ricky sticking around and around and around. (Maybe it just seems that way. Looking it up, I see he was only the coach for two cycles.)

I'd almost prefer we don't stick with the same coach for a lot of cycles at this point. There are enough fresh takes available at this point.
