Like everyone else is saying - after the top 8 or 9 all of the other teams seem similar. It feels as though winning your conference this year will be more important than ever before.

my list is a few posts before yours. i have them at 16. and u agree with you. once i got past the top 7, i think the next 15 are all the same. at the end of the year, i dont think the york and stevenson losses will look bad.

Missed it, my bad. One issue with York/Stevenson is that to a certain extent they’ve mostly used up their opportunities to build a resume (and potentially be a regionally ranked opponent, or at least one at the top vs towards the bottom). No real disagreement overall though.

Someone explain to me again why Union is ranked so high?

Still based on the previous year, up to this game unbeaten, wins over Babson, Endicott, Williams, and Middlebury. Still a lot of opportunity to succeed and excel with their remaining schedule, unlike York, Stevenson, and a few others. Or not, and sink. Currently, Babson is crushing Bowdoin.

i took the average of each poll. then compared each teams average top 20 wins and losses. head to head carried some weight, but also looked at similar opponents , how long ago was that head to head game. and did the results of the head to head seem unusual. i have watched all of these teams play multiple games. so, although RPI has more impressive wins, and more wins, looking at similar opponents, Salisbury played better, so they get the top spot. teams with most top 20 games (toughest schedule). York (6), Tufts (6), middlebury (6), union (5), williams (5)

1-4 are legit solid teams. not sold on dickinson, especially after this weekend, but i can’t drop them with the wins they have. i really think from 5-20 maybe 5-22 are so similar that any of those matchups could go either way.

ok SKUM. went ahead and bolded every team you have ranked in a manner that calls your judgement in to question. either too high or too low. 12/24. it ain’t good.

many are ranking Endicott pretty high. curious on the thoughts. they have a soft schedule with two top 20 teams all year and they are 1-1 vs those teams.

I think this year there is a particularly high number of teams where personal philosophy in rankings comes into play. There are a number of teams that have played very strong schedules but lost most of those games and a several with softer schedules who have won almost all. What you do with those two groups really seems a matter of subjective opinion. I certainly have no problem with Endicott in top 25, probably around 20. There certainly aren't 25 more teams that have had more impressive results, when counting losses as losses.

the last ranking posted does look unusual. but this was really a tough week. many of the top 20 teams suffered a loss this week. some(union) lost twice. but how far can they really be dropped? CNU losing to Williams. but can we really move williams above CNU? probably not. the dust will settle as the season goes on.
i do think IL is just in cruise control this season for D3. the polls and coverage have been unimpressive. for example. Union lost both games this week, and they stayed at #8 in the poll. Bowdin went 1-1 this week and dropped 3 spots. seems odd.
