Really cool article that just came out, tallying home counties of DI collegiate players, and how they stack up. https://lacrosseculturedaily.com/2024/0 ... -counties/

I'd love to see this broken down further to just ACC, Big 10, Ivy or a general top 35 or so of D1. While the contributors across are more spread out than in the past, I feel like the top players on the tops teams are still mostly from the traditional hotbed regions.

if you're not talking about where they played youth Lacrosse, the exercise is pointless

did Logan McEnaney learn how to play in Corning or in the boondocks of Northwest Connecticut?

also, what defines a "top player"?

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man. Lebowski quote aside, sure, where you grew up makes sense.

The guys who get to play when the game is close.

thanks for the chuckle

Well, who made Dave Lawson great player? (Duke/Team USA )

Team Central club team (worcester cty) Middlesex school (middlesex county) or Westford youth, (also Middlesex cty)

speaking of opinions: at that club team "tryout", did the coach of the club team make that 11 year stand out, at the tryout.......or.....

unpaid, volunteer youth coaches always getting the shaft.........

........excepting, in "hot beds" :D

Good points. Lacrosse is getting to be very similar to hockey (rec league->travel/club teams->prep school...). All the sport needs now is juniors and we can start having 21 year old freshmen as well!
