I feel bad for the kid. She did not create the hype for herself. All she did was put up big numbers in HS. Blame the lacrosse media for how they portrayed her. Maybe you just don’t like her or UNC, but she has had a very good career:

Some of her stats from UNC
Career Assists: 4th (94 assists)
Career Points: 13th (201 points)
Single Season Assists: 6th (42 assists, 2022)
She has had a very good career and seems to be a really hard worker and positive teammate. The whole commit in 8th grade and then switch commitments created a bit of a media storm in the very small market of people who care about Women's Lacrosse. Has to be a lot of pressure to be "the recruit" in that space. Would be cool if she returned to Florida and continued to develop the talent there.
Father helped along the hype machine and would have private practices with her...at UNC.....crazy. I believe she has a job in NYC when she graduates. This surprises me because she was so intense about lacrosse would think she would go the route of Ohlmiller, Arsenault & Mastroiani after graduation.
It could be like Jamie Ortega who hasn’t been an ambassador for lacrosse much after UNC. Played at the alum game but otherwise she hasn’t played for AU since last last summer.
I think Jamie made her contribution to the game when she played at UNC. Her not playing another AU season is smart. I really don't see AU as PRO LACROSSE, but you can if you want to.
Every woman who plays collegiately is not obligated to "give back" after graduation. Some choose to coach, while others choose to go other routes. Coaching is tough and works well for single, unattached people who have not a care as to where they go. Most women who graduate from college don't fit that description.

Seems to be quite a few fathers manufacturing hype for their kids. It’s no wonder these kids get to college and don’t “live up to it”. Wurtz has had a decent career at UNC. I don’t think she was the showcase player, but she is still a solid starter. One thing I think is important is Wurtz isn’t trying to force the issue, be the one, hog the ball. She plays her roll well and celebrates others. Super hard to find.

Really not sure how to take this comment about Jamie Ortega. She decided to enter the work force and decided to not play in AAU anymore. Played in the first year but got a season-ending concussion. Was she supposed to be an ambassador? Weird comment.
I meant that Jamie isn’t really as big for lacrosse as North and Mastroianni are after graduation. Both of those folks main job are playing lacrosse, having camps and being lacrosse analysts while Ortega who has the same talents, decided to take a different route.

Unc by 7-10. Maybe more. Clemson hasn’t touched the ball other than the goalie in the last 10 mins.

Update. UNC gonna be in running clock early in the 2nd.

Big difference in play. They’ve actually had the ball a bit in the 2nd. Goalie still kept this game from being much much worse.

Any idea why Betty Nelson isn’t getting any time in goal?

Most likely she isn’t trusted much yet, in the time she has gotten she really doesn’t like much better than Nicolas. I think soon if she gets better, we should give her that starting spot if she lives up to her ranking in IL.

Hoping for a large win against Louisville, then most likely after that a 2 loss slump but maybe we can repeat a win over BC. We will most likely finish the season with 5 losses which isn’t good for the tournament.
