Maryland needs a lot more of that. Settled isn’t yielding any results

This Maryland team does not have it. Have lacked the guy on offense who can consistently draw a slide for a couple seasons now, and defense is making mistakes very uncharacteristic of the program over the past decade. Would be surprised to see them make it out the first round.

PSU faceoff unit keeps leaving early and giving Maryland fast breaks off the face off. It’s truly bizarre. I am guessing Tillman noticed it. Maryland has 3-4 goals off it it

Yup. Fogos afraid to get caught on defense and it’s burned them. Doesn’t make sense given they’re playing solid 6 v. 6 and he’s going to get a chance to sub with weirman

Just wierd since there is no way PSU came in believing they would win the faceoff battle. Almost like they anticipated losing and getting off as fast as possible

Penny State is playing some disgustingly bad lacrosse in this 4th quarter. They look like a high school team out there.

Zoning up down 3 with 5 left is a head scratcher.

PSU gives up 7-8 goals in settled sets and 5-6 off of faceoffs and transition… unacceptable, a lot of that’s on coaching staff.

Johns Hopkins on Top in Big Ten?

Post by DocBarrister »

Maryland defeats Penn State in a spectacular collapse by the Nittany Lions.

I think it’s fair to say the Blue Jays will be the highest ranked B1G team in the polls this week.

Leave it to Tillman - someone finally figured it out - too many smurf's on Penn State's offensive side.
They can be muscled around.

They've got some beefier players coming in the next couple years to address that.

A feature of the modern game are these crazy runs fueling come-from-behind wins, like Penn State's win over Yale in February or UVA's 4th quarter comeback against Harvard on Saturday. Even more so where there's a face-off disparity. With a goalie as good as Fracyon, the Nittany Lions probably didn't expect to be on the less fun end of a comeback and I'm sure would like that fourth quarter back, but I don't see it as a collapse, really -- just being on the wrong end of a run. Great game, great composure by the Terps.

Or,

Tillman figured out how to play Penn State at halftime.

Fracyon stole some along the way also. Terps could’ve opened that one up.

Tillman is a phenomenal leader of men, great recruiter but not exactly a good in game coach.

I know I will get roasted for saying it but if any other coach went 2-5 in the national championship changes would be in order. Sure making seven of them is impressive but Tillman more often than not has been bailed out by superior talent, just a simple fact.

"Is Tillimans job in jeopardy" is a ridiculous take and this is coming from a Hopkins commenter. He's probably a ton closer to some kind of terp sports mount rushmore than an exit.

I think this game showed why Maryland will be in the top 10 all year. They have their warts, but they can dominate the specialist spots. It tends to be easy to figure out a team, when they dont have the ball for 80% of the second half. When Weirman and McNaney are on, they are tough out.. Wierman will get most the accolades (deservingly), but Wierman cane up huge in the 2Q when Maryland was staring into the eyes of a blow out.
