Good rule of thumb: If you have to create a team thread to post a link to your interview with their coach, there probably isn’t a lot of interest from that teams supporters

There’s a few of us! Boys are on campus now for captains’ practices, regular practices start next week. Season will be here soon enough.

Great interview and I agree that players are not working on stick work and quickness enough and spending too much time in the weight room. Pll is proof that the best players are quick and have the best sticks.

That was an interesting tangent that Q took them on. There is definitely an obsession with the weight room. I think you need a base level of strength, depending on the position. But it seems like the focus should be on functional strength to promote quickness and to prevent injuries. As GB said, how many labrum tears etc have we seen over the years? Doesn’t make sense.

A little surprised that Sam King hasn't gotten more love in the preseason player rankings. He put up 56 points last year. Then again, preseason rankings don't matter. Hoping for a great year for King and Harvard.

Do they need to wait until February first, or is that not the case anymore?

Sam King is really good -- was very impressed with what I saw of him last year. He's on an Inside Lacrosse list of 10 underrated players going into 2024 -- coming in at #5: https://www.insidelacrosse.com/slidesho ... 43?slide=5

The list had 3 Ivy Leaguers total: Penn G Emmett Carroll; Harvard A Sam King; and Yale A Chris Lyons.

I don't have a quarrel with too many guys on IL's top 50 list -- although I might have put King or Lyons or Leo Johnson from Yale ahead of a couple guys on the list -- just shows how many good players are out there these days.

As one of my (sorta) alma maters, I remain hopeful that Harvard can return to the glory days of 1915!

It’s time to bring that 14th national championship back where it belongs!*

DocBarrister 8-)

*After the Blue Jays get their long-delayed 45th, of course.

Good to see these 2 teams playing each other tomorrow, although only a scrimmage…

Any of the Crimson fans know if they will be charging at the gate?

Lyons and King are vastly underrated. It’s almost comical.

I can’t imagine them charging for a scrimmage. They haven’t in the past, but anything is possible. Glad to have the two teams playing again.

High temp is in the mid-30s tomorrow. Crimson should be happy if anyone shows up for a scrimmage.

Harvard Lee the league in attendance last year and I don’t think they had a single game day that was warmer than 55 degrees. While it is only a scrimmage, there will be plenty of fans.

Well, c’mon … it’s been over two decades since I lived in Cambridge. These days, I’m thinking 60 degrees is freezing weather. 🙃

Which reminds me, I need to turn on my gas fireplace. We’re expecting a quarter inch of rain today. Burrrr ….

I heard 15-8 but scores are fairly irrelevant in a scrimmage. Team says over 700 people attended-not bad for a scrimmage in February. Helps that both teams are in state. Will post if I get any highlights.
