I was able to watch a little bit of the third and fourth online and Nestor played (had eight shots, two GBs). Didn’t see Strub in the box score and didn’t recall him on the field (Wong got the start).

Hope for Strub he’s back for CLC playoffs, as well as hope Carozzo comes back. He hasn’t played since the Stevenson game.

Amazing roster depth on Gulls roster. Scoring comes from every offensive source and changes from game to game. Defensive nightmare for opponents.

I have been watching the game today on and off and I tuned in to hear that 2 attackmen "gone down" for the season. Who are those 2?

Took the offense to a little while to get going today. Defense has played better though compared to the first meeting.

Update: I read a few posts earlier and looks like my question was answered.

Gulls score by pole. 2 man down. Sums up the game.

Great story from US Lacrosse Magazine about the last year for Coach Berkman. Well written story by Paul Ohanian, who served as Salisbury’s Sports Information Director until 2006, before transitioning to US lacrosse magazine.

SU will need to suck it up! Pretty sure we will be back to compete. Not to many teams can plan for that.

Aside from possession issues in the second half Brown never touched the ball. I don’t get it.

tough loss today. Credit W&L for not throwing in the towel when they got down early 8-1. This Gulls team had a tendency to start fast then kinda lose focus and coast thru some games. Today it was bad penalty after bad penalty , a faceoff tandem that looked visibiliy frustrated, and Washington & Lee goalie who made 4 point blank saves.

All of the above plus a freshman fogo w 3 goals going 60% . Question was Defazio on the field for the winning goal? If so I would have thought he’d take Burns at that point…. Looked like a set play by Generals to try for a switch . Casting no blame here but trying to figure out the number of the cover guy for Salisbury on that play. De Cain had a great game maybe 2 soft goals but stopped some shots that no goalie should make. W&L played Gulls close last year but lost maybe 70% of the face offs. This game was one of the biggest upsets I recall in D3. Coming back from 8-1 against an undefeated Gull team does not happen. Salisbury will break Hobart record just not this year. The lacrosse gods were watching over W&L yesterday just a little bit.

I agree 100%. You are the leader of that Offense. Go demand the ball go through you. That’s what great players do. Not disappear when you need possession during a 9-1 run.

Brown is a great player. Last years match up with W&L I thought he was the best player on the field. Lots to unpack from yesterday’s game. I know for me that much of the game was a blur hoping for the clock to run out before Salisbury could tie it. That didn’t happen and if it went the other way how painful of a loss it would be. I did notice Browns lack of touches. Was that due to W&L winning face offs, or Salisbury coaches running certain sets that did not incorporate Brown. That is certainly doubtful. Best all time assist leader led by the best D3 Coach you’d think would have found a way. Sometimes it doesn’t happen. I don’t think W & L ever shut Brown off but then again I was too involved in the game to notice. Can anyone tell me if Defazio was on the field in OT. If he was I’d have thought he’d be on Burns. Also like to eventually learn if W&L had called Burns number to have a pick set and have him run from left to right from behind. Usually he is on the other side on the wing. If that was designed great call allowing him to either gain a step w the pick or just allowing him more space to gain separation for a shot. Can’t wait for tonight’s game

Not as much as you might think. 2/3 of starters return. Lots of players you haven’t seen much of yet. Machine will need some retooling but happens each season. CNU has a lot of holes to fill, far more than Gulls. Staff has already started reimagining next years team. Culture won’t change.

21 seniors and grads on the team. several starters won’t return. and lots of leadership will be gone.
add to that, not many 5th and 6th year (something salisbury has depended on lately). good thing for salisbury that CNU is in the same boat. both will still be good. but i don’t think SU will be the front runner for 2025.

glad the grad year players are just about phased out of D3.
