Big Win for RPI. "Trap game" this weekend against Coast Guard, a team RPI lost to in OT last year. Looking forward to next week's tilt at defending SUNYAC Geneseo!

As for Skidmore. A win is a win. The good news is a number of goals were assisted and Stamps got his first win between the pipes as a starter. The bad news...a one goal lead against a 5 win team with 6 minutes to go and the Thoroughbreds shot selection.
First of all, ya better check your tone. I dont think you know who you're talking to. I'm Leonard Washington...I don't get butt naked for nobody!!

Roster is up now. Very senior and graduate student heavy
8 Grad Students for RIT. Many from private high schools, so they likely started college with an additional year of experience. It's probably what it will take this year to compete with CNU who has 11 grad students.

How many of them are grad transfers vs grad students who have been on the team the past 4 years? Curious to see if RIT is able to bring in more grad transfers than the rest of LL teams due to being a much bigger school with more graduate degree options and if that is the case are the taking advantage of that.

I believe two grad transfers. A fogo from Merrimack and attackman from Ithaca

Tough one, stopped paying attention after it was 16-5

Kean defense is not good. This is a last place team in coastal. Not sure where and why laxdad1434 would make a comment like the one above. Seems like he likes to stir stuff up and the Kean team is just average.

I wish I didn’t say it, but I did. Kean beat them last year, the score was not indicative of the game. Kean only lost 3 starters, none of them in the top 3 in scoring, so it seemed like a no~brainer. Laughs on me. It was a total beat down.

Although the D did not play well, the O is more concerning. They could not score out of a settled situation, constantly turning it over. Transition was non existent.

They have some daisies coming up, hopefully they’ll right the ship.

Strong win for RPI over Geneseo.

I'd like to say this is RPI's year, but RIT's drubbings of Denison and Grove City make me think they're still the clear #1 in the LL. That said, the conference looks as strong as ever in 2024.

This tells me two things:
1.) RIT is still the champion of the league until they aren't
2.) Denison and Grove City are given too much credit for being the best of their area.

Excellent opening win for Ithaca over St. John Fisher, outscoring them 3-0 over the final frame to grab a 2-goal win. These are the types of games of games Ithaca has been losing all too often over the past few years: play a good team close through 3 quarters, get blown out in the 4th.

Hopefully this renewed toughness is a sign of things to come under their new head coach.

SLU took it to WNE today, 15-8. Final score is not indicative of actual game - SLU was all over the golden bears.
Relatively easy stretch coming up for the Saints till they’re in MD for the Mustang Classic.

Easy? I hope the kids are not thinking that way. If you get beat in either of these games your post season won’t happen.

Pretty big weekend for the league!

With today’s results, the Liberty League now has wins over SEVEN 2023 AQ teams.

SUNYAC champ - RPI 19 - Geneseo 11
CCC Champ - SLU 15 - WNE 8
NEWMAC Champ - Union 14 - Babson 13
Empire 8 Champ - Ithaca 12 - Fischer 10
Presidents Champ- RIT 22 - Groove City 7
North Coast Champ - RIT 22 - Denison 8
Mac Commonwealth Champ- RPI 8 - York 7

Obviously a lot of lacrosse to be played and some huge out of conference games left on the docket, but this is a great start for a league looking to grab a few of the coveted at large spots in May.

Easy stretch compared to what’s on the horizon. Historically, the OOC (besides Middlebury) has not been the reason for SLU missing the tourney, LL loses are.

Absolutely.... Good showing for the Liberty League for sure. Also, I know we are talking about wins over the AQ teams but Skidmore beating Bates today is great as well. Always good when a Liberty beats a NESCAC. LOL

Right, it was Clarkson last year and Ithaca in 18 and 19. SLU would be the favorite vs Fisher and Geneseo just like they were vs Clarkson and Ithaca but the games are not gummies. Look past them and loose and they’re screwed.

When RPI is still the committee's #1 tool come selection Sunday, any out of conference win is meaningful.

6-0 last night for the Liberty League.... Good showing to start.

Granted some were good "warm-up" games but yet some were a little closer than anticipated. I guess we shall see but pretty good.

RIT, Clarkson, Union, Ithaca, Skidmore, and Vassar all victorious
