1. Salisbury- despite all that CNU brings back, given the results of last year, Salisbury gets the top slot.

2. CNU- this team may win the NCAAs, they also just might enter your 30+ men’s league in the next year or two. Either way watch out.

The rest matters not.

I hear Stockton has brought in some talent from the portal and freshman class. Interested to see how the Osprey's look post Poli/Swedlund era. I have not gotten a chance to drive up and check a practice out but word is they look good. But I agree with choochoo it's Salisbury's/CNU's conference to lose.

I wish that were the case. I hope Stockton and Kean step up and make the conference strong. Takes time though.

I hope so, your attack is nice but aren’t you losing some pieces through the midfield and the defense?
That said I think that you have a chance to move past Stockton and MSU as they have to replace much of their offense. I also think that Stockton has to break in a new Fogo and goalie. It could be a long year for them.
From what I understand we will get an early look at Kean, Stockton and MSU and Shambach strong on 10/22.

Kean lost their goalie, FO and LSM, all will be tough to replace, but they have depth at those positions. Middies are in good shape, and have 3 very good FO/Mids coming in. The 2 Jr goalies will battle for the cage. As you mentioned the entire attack is back which is the strongest part of the team. Starting Defense should be the same, with a battle for the 3rd spot. LSM is solid, played a lot last season as a freshman and they have another sophomore who is talented. This is the year to make a move.

Kean will have a matchup against Muhlenberg in the Shambach event which will be interesting.

Should be a fun day lots of good teams there this year. Muhlenberg will be a tough test, but I am not sure what they brought back this year.

Yep. Post Swedlund Stockton should be interesting. Thought they might be able to grab his kid brother. But now he’s Cabrini -> Cortland.

Stockton lost their 2 best players, but they retain everyone else.
At attack they still have Capozzoli and some good Jr's that saw time last year. Their entire D and goalie are back, and they are a big talented bunch. Horvath is one of the best FO guys in D3, and I heard they grabbed some Cabrini decommits. They will be good.

Watch out for Shandley from Stockton. 6’4” midfielder. After a good sophmore campaign he saw limited action last year w injuries. Could be a step down threat.

Smallwood and McHale as well, all 3 are big kids. I'm sure with the loss of Poli and Swedlund they will a lot through the mids.

Yes. It will be nice to finally see what they go with. That’s a big midfield group, size wise.

I think that Stockton has a chance to be good but they will have to replace some very good offensive options, where as Keans roster appears to be more set but most of the games in this league after the top two come down to coaching and I think that is where Kean is at a disadvantage.

Is the consensus it’s Stockton then Kean as 3 and 4?

I think this is as accurate as any of them. once you get past the first two it is a slugfest that anyone can win to be number 3. I think that CNU has an edge this year as they have a ton of talent back and they play Salisbury at home, but Salisbury has Berkman.

CNU at 1 is crazy. If your going to put them there you need to explain where they are better. Don’t say Cook is the reason because he’s proven to be a non factor against Salisbury FOUR TIMES. Brendes has fun against teams ranked in the teens but doesn’t want any parts of a real defense and plays scared. 1-9 in 3 years, this needs to stop being built as a rivalry that matches up against any of Salisburys from the earlier years

While I agree with you that Salisbury is #1 until CNU can consistently make it a game, to say it is “crazy” is a stretch. This will probably the most even these two teams have been ever. CNU returns quite literally everyone and Salisbury loses a few huge pieces from their championship run. CNU also has a large group of talented seniors/5th years which always plays a part in championship runs(see Salisbury last year and RIT the year before)

If Cook wasn’t locked off the whole game he would be make a huge impact so CNU needs to find a way to get him involved or play some sub games. He had 6 goals and 4 assist in 2 games against Salisbury the prior year so Berkman was smart to lock him.

As for the Brendes slander.. He had 7G/2A against Dickinson, 5G/1A against W&L, 5G/1A against Lynchburg, and 5G/3A against Gettysburg. All four of those teams were elite 8 teams. Not really sure where you found the narrative that he can’t produce against top 10 teams. Yeah Salisbury plays him well, but to say he doesn’t want any part of a “Real Defense” is idiotic.

I personally believe Salisbury and CNU will be the two best teams next year in D3 and whoever makes it to the ship between these two teams will be crowned champs.
