where is fatty when I need him??

Let's get this party started with a list of potential topics/incendiary statements...

1. The UK government's refusal to enact BREXIT because the people voted wrong

2. The Kennedy dynasty

3. The Bush dynasty

4. The (hopefully) failed Clinton dynasty

5. What I like to call "pick a side, any side" - (a) which party supports tariffs?, (b) which party supports the blue collar working class, (c) which party is the party of the KKK and segregation?, (d) which party is the party of globalization and worker oppression across the world?, (e) which party is the party of the corporations?, (f) which party supports the simple country people vs the city people?....

TAATS!
Of course they all do it - at least for 200 years.

The attribution goes to Elbridge Gerry, US Congressman, Massachusetts Governor, and 5th US VP.

And in ironic coincidence, he was in the Democratic-Republican party! :lol

Anyone else notice that Kavanaugh's questioning has barely mentioned the Citizens United decision. Why is that?

I meant the Senators on the judiciary committee. I think you are implying that SuperPAC's are only a thing for one party, but we are not.

We are the "exhausted majority". Will we finally get serious?

https://hiddentribes.us/?utm_source=new ... stream=top

But this can change. A majority of Americans, whom we’ve called the "Exhausted Majority," are fed up by America’s polarization. They know we have more in common than that which divides us: our belief in freedom, equality, and the pursuit of the American dream. They share a deep sense of gratitude that they are citizens of the United States. They want to move past our differences.

BTW, anyone from anyparty upset that our $100 million, per jet, toyz aren't working (F-35 STILL fn grounded ) Nope. TAATS all voted for tRumps largest ever spending bill on Sept. 26.

Thought this would be a good place for a similar thinking article. If you do NOT support this, you are supporting the status quo of TAATS

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/201 ... -size.html

Interesting that their is no authors name attributed to this article/op-ed. ;) ;)

It is "signed." The editorial is authored by the Times's editorial board, which is made up of six men and seven women.

See: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/201 ... board.html

I thought you'd be pleased that the Times urged your issue on its readers, but you found something to complain about.

Notice the winks?

It's not what you know, its WHO you know.

It wasn't a complaint, if was a backhanded attempt to inform that MY ideas aren't just mine. And....who you know.

exactly

It's so much worse than you can imagine. Boy, was the fall of 2017 good for the booz, but they did "only" get $`13 million, over 5 years, ( or $2.5 million a year) for the binge drinking project.....

https://www.boozallen.com/e/contracts/n ... wards.html

$750 million of Veterans Health records, one year contract

and....another $410 million for VA GI bill maintenance.....a grand total of $2 billion for September, 2017 alone

In 2011, this entitlement program got $12 BILLION for Veterans Admin. IT program (over 5 years ) Seven year itch later, they still are getting billions and NOT creating a better IT product. SIgn me up..........maybe I will just forget to bang in the pegs on the timber frame, it will hold.

Sen. Paul is up to his wacky antics again. Trying to stop selling killing machine weapons sales to a foreign company. $300 million in missile sails.

https://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/115-2018/s243

28 pretend liberal/Democrats voted YES to continue this sail. Kingdom of Bahran will get just over a 100 missiles. Man, they be expensive. Michelle be like.........

I have stumbled across these folks: https://www.frontporchrepublic.com/ and I am trying to decide if they make more sense than anyone I have heard from in some time, or they are nut jobs with an agenda I haven't figured out yet.

From what I have read so far, they seem to be believers in tight communities that foster activism at the grass roots level. I also sense that they believe that local decision-making leads to the following benefits:
  • - blurring of party distinctions in favor of pragmatic need
    - "stickier" communities where people are more inclined to stay where their roots are and invest in the work required to make life better
    - greater focus on the community and less focus on the "self"

Something I plan to keep an eye on.

in their own words:
About

The economic crisis that emerged in late 2008 and the predictable responses it elicited from those in power has served to highlight the extent to which concepts such as human scale, the distribution of power, and our responsibility to the future have been eliminated from the public conversation. It also threatens to worsen the political and economic centralization and atomization that have accompanied the century-long unholy marriage between consumer capitalism and the modern bureaucratic state. We live in a world characterized by a flattened culture and increasingly meaningless freedoms. Little regard is paid to the necessity for those overlapping local and regional groups, communities, and associations that provide a matrix for human flourishing. We’re in a bad way, and the spokesmen and spokeswomen of both our Left and our Right are, for the most part, seriously misguided in their attempts to provide diagnoses, let alone solutions.

Though there is plenty we disagree about, and each contributor can be expected to stand by the words of only his or her own posts, the folks gathered here more or less agree with the above assertions. We come from different backgrounds, live in different places, and have divergent interests, but we’re convinced that scale, place, self-government, sustainability, limits, and variety are key terms with which any fruitful debate about our corporate future must contend. We invite you to read along, and perhaps join the discussion.
