Hearing this was Hill’s second team and that AOF played their back up goalie. Not sure how this will play out in national media.

Caught parts of the game but the end was insane. Score was 8-8 with 50 seconds left. AOF with possession but turns the ball over with fast break the other way for HIll look like great opportunity for them but (I think) the D takes it away from HIll and break goes the other way with the middie heaving a midfield pass/shot at the goal. AOF player and Hill goaile go for the jump ball with AOF winning it and underhanding it into the goal with 1 second left.

As to who was playing, I have no idea on the Hill side if it was their 2nd team but for AOF it was the backup goalie as well as their 2nd FOGO. Defense was also completely changed around as well with a different unit

Only other game on the schedule was IMG beating GOvs

Today: Kent v TP,

Tomorrow: Wick v Vandermont (TX - is the coach the same assistant coach from Johns Hopkins?), Taft v Westy, Loomis v Berkshire, AOF v Salisbury, Kent v Albany Academies and Deerfield vs Choate. Dont see a lot of close scores in these games except the last one.

I agree with you JOP save for DA vs CRH. I think the Big Green may roll by a significant margin for several reasons: 1) Revenge for losing a one-goal game last season, DA's first loss to CRH in something like 17 years, 2) the depth and quality of DA's PGs and goaltending, and 3) CRH needed OT to beat Westy and only beat Berkshire by 3. Anything can happen in HS lax but I'm picking DA by 6 or more.

I wouldn't be totally surprised if Taft-Westy ended up being a little closer than expected. PG Owen O'Farrell is coming off an injury and showed some of his QB skills in the close game against CRH. If Westy can clean up their offense and Taft stays as uncoordinated as they have been in their past bouts, this could be a good battle.

Good intel by SL and bloboll123. I dont really have a dog in the fight but I do hope Deerfield rolls Choate. Westy showed a lot of life against Choate so lets see if an upset can bring some parity to the conference!

I am not a tik-tok user but I was able to watch the end of AOF vs Hill Academy on tik-tok as a guest. The announcers are wild and this was a good clip of the end which my description did not do justice

LC 12, Berkshire 10 The Bears led much of the game including 2 - 0 in the first few minutes and 6 - 5 at the half. Loomis battled back late in a game it may have expected to be much less of a challenge.

DA 14, CRH 7

Salisbury 13-9 over Avon. Was tight until the last minute or so. Good, even game.

Starting to grow skeptical of Taft— transitive property isn’t always accurate in hs lax, but they lost to hill academy who lost to Avon, which is a team that is having a big down year. Taft also played kiski to a one goal game and lost to St. John’s. They almost beat haverford a few weeks ago, but something is wrong for them this year.

Week 4 Not So Accurate Rankings for New England D1-2-3

Does anyone know the true TP/Kent score as I have conflicting intel but TP website has it at 10-3. Also did Wooster beat Storm King as I have conflicting intel from Wooster website which has it as a win but a loss on IL and LN#s

D1 Summary
-Tier 1 (#1-5), Tier 2 (6-10), Tier 3 (11-13)
-Wick remains the undisputed champ with a huge controversial (but legit) win over L'ville who was expected to roll through the country
-Have I underrated Salisbury? And are Taft, TP and Choate overrated?
-AOF Jekyll and Hyde'ing: bad loss to berkshire but with the 2nd goalie / FOGO and a reformulated defense, they beat Hill and was tied with Salisbury 9-9 with a few minutes left (a good loss?) - who are they?
-I root for Kent to get a few wins every year but this may be the worst I have ever seen as games are not even close and some to teams in a lower division. Does anyone have intel?

D2 Summary
-Millbrook and Wilby will battle it out for the top position with AA as possible dark horse beating all the "Kents by a score of 41-1
-Cheshire and Suffield battling for relegation
-What could have been a dominant year for GCDS has fallen short with key losses
-King remains on top
-HH with a HUGE win over Canterbury and another over Cheshire Acad to move from pretender to contender
-Hopkins has cemented last place as their most winnable games are behind them

D3 Summary
-Williams and Harvey continued to dominate and separate from the rest of the decision
-Kudos to Storm King whose last season was pre-COVID and is now 2-0
-Does Darrow even have a team

New feature a la Soccer
-At risk for relegation: Kent, NMH, Cheshire Academy, Suffield, Hopkins, St Lukes
-For Promotion: Millbrook, Wilby, King, Williams, Harvey

Notable games this week - not quite like the last 2 weeks but some good games (full schedule at the end of this post)
-Biggest game of the week is Harvey vs Williams for supremacy in the lowest division
-Wick and Deerfield vs Taft: is Taft having a down year while missing some defense due to injury
-Salisbury vs L'ville
-Berkshire vs Hotchkiss and AOF vs Choate in Tier 2 battles: more intrigued by the latter as who is AOF / Whos is Choate - battle in Tier 2
-Gunnery vs Millbrook: a win by Gunn could catapult them up the rankings
-Wilby vs Williston in their traditional rivalry
-HH vs GCDS: GCDS not living up to potential but this game will dtermine if HH is a contender or pretender
-KO vs RCDS / KO bs Cheshire Academy - KO has a chance to move into the next tier with a win

Looks like this may be a rough week for Taft. Hoping that Salisbury gives L'ville a good fight. If it does, it might be an interesting game.

True TP Kent score was 23-3. The scoreboard stopped or froze in the 2nd half of the game at 19-3, but TP went on to score 4 after the scoreboard stopped counting.

Agreed, I have loved watching the knights through the years, and they've always got some grit. I don't have any color on the talent or skill of the players, but I could see them giving L'Ville a run for their money.

I've watched Salisbury in spurts most games so far, and I've watched L'Ville probably 3 times (same with Wick) in chunks. I think it'll just come down to depth. Less of it vs a lot of it. The students calling the Salisbury game vs Avon said that while they knew virtually nothing about lacrosse, they were buddies with a few of the Sr's on the team who told them the biggest difference between this year and the last few is in defense. Size and level apparently slightly less accomplished this season. That's the wrong place to be weaker against Lawrenceville who have top level attackers across the board. Anyhow, my uneducated guess would be L'Ville by 4.

Ah yes. I should have included Salisbury vs L'ville in the games to watch this week

On a separate note, anybody know anything about the Westy win over Hotchkiss 8-3? It was a bit of a surprise to me not just the win but the score as well.

I watched some of the live stream. Hotchkiss has, like, one good player. Maybe 2. The rest are the sort who secure a ground ball by raising their stick above their head as they run directly at the cage. Hotchkiss is apparently not prioritizing lax this year...

Agree that the Bearcats are not a very talented squad this year aside from a handful of commits of note but they hired JR Mastro (former Brunswick assistant, who played at Richmond and DA and was/is a 2Way coach) as head coach last summer so I'd expect they prioritized lax in the admissions process this year and will going forward. I certainly hope they do as its good for NEW1 to have more competitive teams in the league.

Good news about Mastro! And a good sign, too.

Now if NEWest1 could just relegate Kent to NEWest2.....

Agreed, I have loved watching the knights through the years, and they've always got some grit. I don't have any color on the talent or skill of the players, but I could see them giving L'Ville a run for their money.
Bloboll--- Salisbury has some strong midfielders this year. They are quick and shifty. Its going to be interesting to see how they stack up against an Lville squad that has similar talent up the middle on the defensive end of things. Salisbury is going to have an issue on offense if they can't get the ball moving and work hard off ball. Lvilles D is not afraid to slide, so if the Salisbury attackers are selfish, they'll be left in the dust.

Ouch about H'Kiss. After a few good years, thought they would turn it up a notch but the prior coach development and recruiting as not borne fruit for the new coach, which I agree is good hire

As for relegation, Kent and NMH who doesnt even play most the NEW1 teams. Promote Millbrook or Wilby!
