Loomis gets going on March 16th in PA

Deerfield starts on March 16th against IMG then has Nobles from ISL

Taft launches their schedule in 3/22 weeks against St Johns, which is a nationally ranked DC area team

Wick kicks off their schedule 3/23 against St Sebs, who is a big player in the ISL (they beat my Rhinos last year)

Salisbury starts on Mar 27 against Nobles as well

Everyone else seems to be 3/30 or an April start date.

Whee!
What happened to the March 16th games for LC and the DA Green?

They're either off of IL calendars (LC) or passed but no score shown (DA)

Curiouser and Curiouser...
Deerfield v IMG was a scrimmage, probably why no posted score.
Yup, those NE West Florida Trips always get conveniently removed from IL Scoreboard. Sometimes you can find them on LaxNumbers. Usually, the school's website doesn't even include it on their schedule.

Joe
Deerfield's website lists the spring break trips for each team and gives the daily itinerary. For the 16th it said there would be scrimmages, it didn't even list IMG. This was before the trip happened. IMG doesn't list it either. It was a scrimmage. While Florida teams are in the middle of their season, West-1 teams use trips like this to literally settle on their varsity roster, they have had a small handful if any outdoor practices before they go down. This was never a game. Loomis's first game seems to have been the 18th, score is on IL and laxnumbers.

This is from Taft - IMG down in Florida: https://www.instagram.com/p/C4tFOAXr8iP/

If guys are wearing pinnies instead of jerseys, then it's a scrimmage. I doubt any of the prep schools that go to Florida pack jerseys.

pcowlax,

Thanks for the insight. Looks it was part of something called the Hoganlax "Orlando Jamboree" Which took place from 3/16-3/19.

Not so accurate D1-D2-D3 rankings for 2024

-Now that I have submitted my NCAA BBall sheets, I can focus on this since the season is upcmonig
-Will try to do this again this year if it is of any interest to anyone. I know the focus is on the NE-West Div 1 but I threw in 2 and 3 as well
-Does not include most ISL or Mass teams. Mostly CT and eastern NY and Western Mass
-I have no great intel on all the teams, especially this early in the season so please feel free to disagree
-I have included the games that have been played - I dont know if they are scrimmages
-there is no formal D2 / D3 (HVAL) divisions. I just kind of lumped them together to D2 (boarding except Brusnwick2), D2 day schools and D3 is a mish-mosh

Questions and observtaions for each division:
- Will Loomis take the next step and join the Big 3? Will 'Wick reload?
- Will Kent win more games?
- Noticed NMH eased up on their NE-West scheduling and scheduled more Mass teams
- Will Millbrook claim the top spot again or will Canterbury and Gunnery improve after a down year?
- IS GCDS now the new Brunswick Lite?
- Will Harvey take the top spot in D3?

Love to hear and feedback or comments. Good luck to everyone this season. Sorry for the formatting. Dont know how to fix it

I watched the link Grelch suggested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzfURR4Cgos

Except for the first 7 minutes of the 2nd half, a period of time that Taft lost 7-1, Taft looked like it might well win.

Does Wick not use Twitter anymore? They had a big following and up until 7 months ago stopped posting.

It's probably more that Twitter isn't a platform that young people use very much, and social accounts are often run by student managers. I've noticed that a lot of teams are active on Instagram because of the visual and video elements. Maybe teams use TikTok as well but I'm just speculating as I'm not on that app.

Appreciate the response.

I get that but Twitter is typically “live” updates and scores are posted immediately.

Not sure where to get my real time updates now.

Wild ending in the final minute. Taft ties it on the man up. Then McCarthy scores off the FO with a weird bouncer that threw Friedman off. Taft gets another man up and ties it again. Then McCarthy goes down and scores off the FO again with less than 10 seconds on the clock.

Taft definitely played a lot better than the other night; St. John's has had an awful start to the season so frankly that's a bad loss. They can hold their heads up high today though. There was a period early in the third where Haverford was threatening to break the game wide open. But they hit a pipe, Taft went down and scored to make it 6-4, and from there momentum swung and Haverford got very tight.

Defensively Taft shut down Haverford for the last 20 minutes of the game, and Friedman was terrific. Fitzgerald similarly excellent, and overall he got the better of Haverford's top ranked FOGO. Offensively they were stymied by a hot goalie, but frankly they didn't get much going in the settled offense against an admittedly imposing Haverford defense; half of their goals came on the EMO including the last 3 in the fourth quarter.

Were Belmont Hill the defensive masters, keep the score low specialists from last year? I wonder how many players they lost from last year. My recollection is that they were very good last season. Should be an interesting game today.

Jumped around between 3 games in their first halves. BH looked good at Deerfield. Think it ended 9-6 BH at the half, but they felt more in command than that. Loomis v Governor's was close. Last I looked Loomis were up by 1. Wick has been sloppy. Up by 1 after 1. That's all I can watch. good to see it all back.

LC downs Govs 14 - 8 in its home opener. Govs came out with fire in its belly, likely still smarting from its loss to Andover, tallied the first two goals of the game and kept it close for much of the first half. The Pelicans were missing a few key players and had some mental lapses that resulted in penalties today but proved to be too much for the Red Dogs nevertheless.

Brunswick 11-5 over what was, last year at least, a very strong Radnor, not sure how they will be this year. Deeefield falls 13-12 in OT. Last year Belmont played a soul-sucking zone and won games (vs good teams), 6-4, 6-5, 8-5, 8-6, etc. very tough to beat, many excellent players, miserable to watch. Hopefully they have opened it up this year, maybe this score indicates they have.
