Another strong defensive performance from The Indians.

The big one is coming Saturday! Btw are we still the Indians? I thought the school had to get rid of the nickname
They are the Indians through the end if this school year. From what I've heard. the students are voting to go with no nickname moving forward. Will simply be Manhasset, or "Set"

Joe
Other candidates are Eagles and Mavericks. Please no 'Set. Sounds idiotic.

Just for fun I went through the rosters of every ACC, Big Ten, and Ivy team and looked to see the hometowns of the St Anthony's players on those rosters. Guess on what school they'd have gone to isn't always accurate (i.e. some kids listed as hometown Syosset still go to CSH, etc), but close.

Brennan O’Neill (Duke) - Bay Shore
Andrew McAdorey (Duke) – Floyd
Jake Naso (Duke) – Sachem North
Aiden Danenza (Duke) – Jericho
Owen Duffy (UNC) – Westhampton
Cole Aasheim (UNC) – Oyster Bay
Jack Walshe (UVA) – Commack
Danny Parker (ND) – Mt. Sinai
Jalen Seymour (ND) – Hills
Jake Bonomi (ND) – Northport
Michael Leo (Cuse) – Seaford
Luke Martin (Hopkins) – Hills
Max McCarthy (Hopkins) – Huntington
Kevin Kearns (Michigan) – Wantagh
Patrick Carragher (PSU) – Bellmore-Merrick
Joe Calandrino (PSU) – Massapequa
Jaeden Jenkins (PSU) – Hills
Jack Speidell (Harvard) – Ward Melville
Jackson Greene (Harvard) – CSH
Greg Campisi (Harvard) – Farmingdale
Jaden Jernigan (Harvard) – Elmont

Nice stuff Chris. Not only are the hometowns interesting, seeing the colleges laid out together like that is very interesting. 4 at Harvard but zero at any other Ivy? The Duke pipeline is well known and obviously ND makes sense but some of the other top schools (UVA, MD) rarely bring in St. A players. There are (Chanenchuk) of course exceptions.

Interesting indeed. I just learned that starting FOGO Moon and Attack Langton are both from Manhasset. It used to be just Chaminade (and New England preps). Now St. A. is getting into the act.

It is understandable why outstanding players would not to play for some of the named programs; less understandable for several others. There is, of course, the X factor of religion. We can’t know to what extent if any that might play a part in each of these decisions.

I was really surprised to see that Harvard was the only Ivy with St Anthony's players.

Religion aside it's hard to think of a good reason to leave Manhasset for private school. But kids do it all the time. It's honestly mind-boggling to me.

Chaminade in particular is a great school. But so is Manhasset.

Back in the day, a number of kids that played together in GC's youth league would enroll at Chaminade after the eighth grade. A substantial number of Chaminade Alums live in Garden City. Many of their sons will continue to go to Chaminade. The Flyers attract kids from many Nassau and Suffolk Communities. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more players from Point Lookout than there are from GC.

Many of we "townies" would love to see a renewal of the rivalry with our "down the block neighbors".

Nice, Somers is 8-0 and a good test. I think South Side also has West Babylon next week. They should handle them though.
