Looks like 6-4 final. Good win

Totally agree, their 2025 class is strong though and I would expect that they benefit next year from these growing pains.LI13 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 12:29 pm Port Washington really bit off more than it could chew with its insane non league schedule this year. They are 1-6 with their one win in a power league game against Massapequa. Non league losses to Huntington, Hills, Smithtown West, and a decent Christian Brothers team from NJ. They still play Northport after the game scheduled for March was monsooned out. Good chance they end up with only 3 wins this year...maybe given the power league gauntlet, the coaches could give the kids a little break in the non conference!
Kip Zacharia's 1st game back. Kept Kershis in check for the most part. Add's a different dimension to their defense alongside Mulholland and Morrison. Port on Wednesday and then Woodstick on Saturday at 7PM.kr522 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 6:11 pmfordmaddoxford wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 4:12 pmKnowing them the camera’s set up at MHS and they’re wondering where everyone is. Marcellus in Section 3 may have something to say about it. Though Pleasantville has some very good athletes.
Might they get relegated, and would that take a lot of good teams off their schedule next year?JoeMauer89 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 3:14 pmTotally agree, their 2025 class is strong though and I would expect that they benefit next year from these growing pains.LI13 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 12:29 pm Port Washington really bit off more than it could chew with its insane non league schedule this year. Interesting how very few games played where both are in the same class…..and the smaller schools are doing most of the winningLI13 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 12:52 pm Also thought it would be interesting to see how the Power League teams are doing against Suffolk.
Suffolk is 8-6 vs power league teams.
Port Washington 8-13 Huntington
Port Washington 5-15 Hills
Port Washington 6-11 Smithtown West
South Side 16-6 Harborfields
Syosset 10-13 East Islip
CSH 5-10 Huntington
Manhasset 6-4 SWR
GC 13-5 Mt Sinai
GC 9-3 WM
Farmingdale 13-6 West Islip
Wantagh 7-8 BBP
Wantagh 12-9 Comsewogue
Massapequa 5-7 BBP
Massapequa 7-8 Commack
Maybe someone from NYSPHSAA will hear me screaming from the rooftops about how enrollment classes don't make sense in lacrosse. More trophies but there's no talent disparity to remedy. When the D champ and the A champ would probably play a one goal game, you don't need different tournaments.kr522 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 12:15 amInteresting how very few games played where both are in the same class…..and the smaller schools are doing most of the winningLI13 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 12:52 pm Also thought it would be interesting to see how the Power League teams are doing against Suffolk.

I think this is intentional. It's to avoid showing an opponent their style and look in case of a LIC rematch. I know this is why Manhasset played SWR, because SWR is in "C" and Manhasset is in "B" now and there is no chance for an LIC meeting.kr522 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 12:15 amInteresting how very few games played where both are in the same class…..and the smaller schools are doing most of the winningLI13 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 12:52 pm Also thought it would be interesting to see how the Power League teams are doing against Suffolk.

I'm not sure that will happen so soon. They might schedule just as aggressively next year. I can't see who would replace them in the Power League.kr522 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 12:09 amMight they get relegated, and would that take a lot of good teams off their schedule next year?JoeMauer89 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 3:14 pmTotally agree, their 2025 class is strong though and I would expect that they benefit next year from these growing pains.LI13 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 12:29 pm Port Washington really bit off more than it could chew with its insane non league schedule this year. Haven't gone back to look at schedules and records but I would be willing to blindly bet that since at least 2010 the best team on LI was not an A teamLI13 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 8:15 amMaybe someone from NYSPHSAA will hear me screaming from the rooftops about how enrollment classes don't make sense in lacrosse. Another stat to that effect: A teams in the power league have yet to beat one of the B/C/D power league teams. Combined the four of them are 2-9 with the only wins against each other.
2013 WM was definitely the best. But most years you're right. Been that way since the end of the West Islip dynasty.flyerfan17 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 8:02 pmHaven't gone back to look at schedules and records but I would be willing to blindly bet that since at least 2010 the best team on LI was not an A teamLI13 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 8:15 amMaybe someone from NYSPHSAA will hear me screaming from the rooftops about how enrollment classes don't make sense in lacrosse.
