Re: Long Island 2024
As a total aside on this thread, I'm not sure Cham will ever beat Saint Ants again
Re: Long Island 2024
Fwiw, JD just pasted Baldwinsville 16-9. Whoever wins Long Island C (Bayport?) may have their hands full
FF: that used to be so highly competitive, why has it tilted in St A’s favor so much lately?

Re: Long Island 2024
St Ants for sure is now playing a bigger schedule, I wouldn't say Cham is limited but it's not on the same scale. They don't compete for the same kid geographically but they could. If I'm a lacrosse player I would like to go to school with girls. I think it's been trending this way for a while now with a year here or there different. When they get to the next level though ND has been better than Duke...

Going to school with girls is absolutely the difference maker you nailed it. St Anthony's won't even play Manhasset or GC (Not sure they played much if it all, somebody correct me, I doubt they played more than twice) anymore. Manhasset-St Anthony's was a very competitive few games when they matched up.

You may be right. No offense intended to anyone but Chaminade is a real school that isn't ever going the prep school route, while St Anthony's has been trending that way for years.flyerfan17 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 10:24 pm As a total aside on this thread, I'm not sure Cham will ever beat Saint Ants again
This is not to say that St Anthony’s is the same as a true prep school, but it is certainly much easier for them to compile talent than it is for Chaminade.
The girls thing too, hah.
Re: Long Island 2024
Chris when you say true prep school what do you mean by that? Lower admissions standards? Girls definitely matter, even as a parent I would council my kid to go co-edLI13 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 12:00 amYou may be right. That they're recruiting from a seemingly larger area without as much concern for academics or school fit.kr522 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 12:44 pmChris when you say true prep school what do you mean by that? I'm taking us over WM 8-7. I'll be on a plane so hopefully I'll see the good news when I land.
