Loyola @ Duke Friday Evening

Post by gymman1031 »

As someone said on another page, if Loyola pulls this off, it will show even more that they are for real this season:

-They are on the road on a Friday evening against a very good team. That can create one of the toughest situations for teamms.

-Duke is hungry to avenge last year's loss.

Predictions? On paper, Duke should win by a few.

Judicious use of second half timeouts could be an important factor.

Should be an entertaining game. Weather isn’t great for March in North Carolina. Low 50’s.

If Loyola is for real, if Duke is for real, I still think Duke, 13-8. Loyolas FOGO issue will keep them coming from behind in games like this.

If Loyola surprises, Staudt stands on his head.

😂

Nicely done, Molo.

That playoff timeout was incredibly painful!

I’m all in on Duke tomorrow. Loyola has played uninspired lacrosse the last couple of weeks - A virtual no show in New Brunswick, a sloppy OT win over 1-4 Towson and allowing 11 goals at home to a one-dimensional offense like Lafayette in a slog of a game. I don’t think they have a chance in Durham. They’d need divine intervention to keep it close.

Maybe I'll regret this but if Wyers is healthy and playing I just don't think Loyola is giving up 17 to basically anyone. Now losing by 7 I can see but it'd be like 13-6 or something.

If teams played equal to their high school recruit rankings, your score would be accurate. I never trust Duke to perform. But they seem to have Loyola’s number. I’d go with 14-10.

hopefully, a good game. staudt has been huge so far, and well over 50 every game. goalie battle should be intriguing. loyola's gonna have to get more shots, probably. duke takes a lot of them. winning some faces would go a long way.

Looks like the weather in Durham is a lot better than what we’re dealing with here in Baltimore. The team that beat Maryland and Hopkins could beat Duke, but they haven’t been seen for a couple of weeks. On the other hand, just
when I think Duke has turned the corner, they slip up, unless they are playing UVA in the regular season. As much as I’m hoping for a close Loyola win, I expect Duke to win by something like 12-8.

Duke's gotta be a little careful here, looks as if Loyola is trying to pull off the rope-a-dope by letting the Dookies score so much early they wear themselves out.

So much for 12-8. Duke starting attack didn’t last the entire 14-2 half. It’s safe to say the ACC might get more than one team in this year’s ACCT.

Is that what the NCAAT is called now? :D
