Yeah forgot for a moment who won the BC-NW game. Should've added them as well.

I think UNC has the best resume now. 3 top 10 wins.

Based on the eye test, they are #1 in my book. Cuse close #2

Hopefully the wake up call BC needs, that’s the best I can think of

And I’d argue that the best player on the field was Hollie Schleicher, gal gets every ground ball and has been for past 3 years

Curious as to where they’ll end up in next weeks rankings

BC & MD both 3-2. Both great teams but they have some work to do. Interesting that MD is harshly critiqued, but I haven’t heard as much about BC underperforming. I think MD has had a worse start to the season, but BC not playing to their full potential either.

I think the difference is while BC has looked great in their wins and underwhelmed in losses while MD has underwhelmed in every game except maybe their season opener. I also think a lot of people want to see MD fail compared to BC, but maybe that's just my MD alum bias showing

once again...Some will say recruiting rankings don't matter but in September when UNC landed the number 1 and number 2 ranked players i said BC, MD, NW, etc needed to go all out and win now. UNC goes what? 4/5 freshmen deep? all getting good to significant playing time when most teams can barely muster 1. Learning and dominating. and they do this against a really good veteran BC team? on a year they were supposed to be rebuilding. Freshman Caroline Godine casually comes outta nowhere and scores 3 goals. Brooklyn Walker-Welsh is just a sophomore. Ellie Traggio who yard saled B Smith is another freshman and the thing is, Levy has gotten significantly better as a coach and has assembled an all star supporting cast around her. She's squeezing every ounce of talent and effort out of these players.

UNC may not win it all this year but give them a year to season and marinate and when that girl from connecticut shows up..if you think Marissa White is good as a freshman, oh just you wait. Chloe Humphrey is better and by a good margin. as ridiculous as that sounds. So goodluck to college lacrosse.

This is why Maryland's failures on a macro level is concerning. game to game we can always say they can improve. But bigger picture, big problems. BC will be fine as they're raking in talent too. Syracuse as well because KT has breathed fresh air into the program and it's showing on the field and in recruiting. Those will be UNC's main challengers.

I was at the game. Hollie not the best on field! (or  even close to!)

Hollie Who and the gang that couldn’t shoot straight! The top 5+ players on the pitch were all Tarheels. What a gut punch. UNC was hungry for the ball, turn overs and lazy play from BC, from the first whistle. Running clock YIKES. I loved the look that TV caught on AWW face, that root canal, pained look.
So happy that UNC let their freshman loose! Fun to see the next group get a chance. If any MD fans were paying attention, the real #1 recruit (M.White) and the #1 class showed out.
Dolce not the answer either!
It will be fun to see how BC tries to get back up for the rematch. Fun

Just a postscript. I think the defense from UNC -- coverage, communication, pushing offensive players to poor angles, staying on players' hands to the end, goalkeeping -- was only matched by the intensity and consistency of UNC's play. I'm no UNC fan, but the game plan and play from the defense was a joy to watch...as long as you weren't a BC fan. I was astonished by the lack of slides and help, and that is just real confidence in your athletes. Medjid is a skilled and accurate shooter, and shot badly, over the net, weakly, several times simply because BWW stayed on her and in her hands. I thought the players of the game were BWW and Nalls, but then I like defense in this essentially scorers' game.

I think Barnes and Levy sized up the athletes and saw that BC lacks a player who can consistently dodge, draw a double, get hands free, and understood that their kids could lock off the passes that make BC effective. I thought Martello did the best job of getting free, but even then, too few times. In any event, one staff had their kids ready. The other staff tried, but their kids on offense got suffocated. I was disappointed that we didn't get a nail-biter. But gotta hand it to UNC. They'll be my No. 1 until someone beats them.

Its early, but... I don't see any team that competes with what we saw yesterday, except, Cuse.

Goaltending: UNC
Offense: Cuse
Defense: UNC
Coaching: UNC

Does this put to bed the notion that BC would be better without North?

I feel like that could me mis-read as a "troll" comment, but I was bit perplexed by the posters who were making that argument pre-season.

after just one game? I don't think so.

Yeah this was an ugly loss for BC, but BC usually builds off of losses like that. BC lost in a similar fashion (21-9) to UNC during the regular season the year they won the national championship in 2021.

and did we forget the Duke loss last year?? North was still on the team then.
