Big wrestling show tonight in Chicago Land as the great promotion NWA is making a big comeback. This the first time that a USA independent wrestling show has drawn over 10,000 fans in 25 years ~ and they were sold out in 30 minutes! Nick Aldis, the world's true Champ will defend his title vs Cody Rhodes. Former ladys Champ Madison Rayne will also appear.

I just had a rehearsal dinner for son #1, where I grilled a whole lot of stuff. Heard it was good, but as is par for the course, the cook never gets any of it. I'll bet if I had this gizmo I could have cut the eaters down by half. Hate to be sexist, but I know which group would balk at eating off this grill!

Sadly, but predictably, the Village Voice last week ended its 63-year run. I mourn the loss of our town’s weekly bible of pop-culture happenings, political investigations and all-round blasphemy as much as anyone. But upon examining the facts, we must recognize the Voice’s demise as a sign of these Darwinian times.

The Voice’s loss of juice reflected the status of both modern journalism and the place it was synonymous with, Greenwich Village itself.



Much of NYC's "counter culture" and artistic Mecca have now shifted to, of all places, Brooklyn [God's Country]. "New York magazine has for years now served as the city’s great media tastemaker, not the Voice."

This is pretty good, the girl's reaction is priceless. A big set up, supposed to be a get away week-end for the couple arranged by the boyfriend. Nothing real here, all actors and no hotel. Girl's a doctor (two sisters are too), sang in pubs and the like to help pay for college. A cutie who seems like a real sweetie, bf pulled off a pretty good one here.
