yeah, that was my point about what is and isn't an upset the first couple of weeks of the season.

The weather will do more upsetting than any other team.

Just laughed with my buddy about this and the idea that cold weather makes you tough…..he then said “tell that to the 1972 Miami Dolphins”…we laughed….right up there with construction boots and a hard hat makes you tough.

Yep….we talked about this kind of footage with steam coming ofc of a player’s head and seeing their breath when they exhaled in the cold air….the long coats. NFL Films and the music created that imagery.

If Burke is dominating at the X ala Ierlan I think Vermont definitely has a shot as they have good players on both sides of the ball and will be able to put up points. That said Vermont will also be breaking in a lot of new pieces as well. They lost their top 3 goal scorers plus the starting goalie and one of their top cover guys and both coordinators.

I think it will be a fascinating game for a lot of reasons.

Maryland and Richmond have played in 2, 1-goal games (2019, 2020). The second of those games was a 2OT game. The Terps have won both of those games, but I won't be surprised if the game is that close again.

UR breaks in a ton of new players, but Chemotti is a really good coach who has built a really good program. Even in early season games, they'll jump in and out of a zone. They'll do some interesting things on the ride. They like to get out in transition.

They're capable of pulling off an upset.
