More good news of pushback from the left against the far left.

Background: Steven Pinker is a renowned linguist and psychologist at Harvard. See e.g. this from 2 weeks ago: https://reporter.mcgill.ca/mcgill-alumn ... y-lecture/

But some people in the Linguistic Society of America want to strip him of his Fellow status with that organization because of some un-PC things he tweeted over the past few years, and wrote a letter to the LSA demanding that.

Here's the latest: https://www.motherjones.com/recharge/20 ... er-letter/

Trump has made a future left-wing dictatorship in the US far more likely that it would have been without him.
Agree. But the other reason for that is because the left hasn't tried to control or lead its own. It's been split idealogically and completely divided since at least 2015.

And if anyone is still taking bets for 2020 Bingo, I'd like to put an easy one down that if Trump wins Nov 3, most cities burn on Nov 4.

The left hasn't handled Trump well at all. Their lack of leadership is jarring. It's why the best they could muster is dusty, crusty old Joe Biden.
Thats not the left, and posters need to stop making this mistake.

The left that you see in the streets is the polar opposite to Biden. Biden in the old, corporate, Democratic garb. If he wins, little will change in America.

Yes! +100. Status quo. This ain't the left. Biden is center right. Maintain the power of the 1%ers. Change nothing.
i agree. they're all the same. the rest is just an illusion.

Center right? You guys better wake da FK up. The left is telling you specifically what it is and intends—Biden can't control it or bend it.

Ex 1: Alicia Garza, one of three co-founders of the Black Lives Matter national organization, has repeatedly talked about how convicted cop killer and wanted domestic terrorist Joanne Chesimard, also known as Assata Shakur, is one of her main inspirations. Susan Rosenberg, a member of the board of directors for the left-wing Thousand Currents group, which handles the intake of donations made to Black Lives Matter, is a convicted terrorist who, among other things, was suspected of helping Shakur escape from prison.

Ex. 5: Seattle city council member Kshama Sawant (avowed socialist} framed Monday’s 7-2 council vote for the hefty payroll tax on larger businesses as a step toward the goal of overthrowing the “bankrupt system of capitalism” and replacing it with “a socialist world.” Warns Jeff Bezos 'We are coming for you'

I tend to agree...and do not be surprised when Biden starts pushing Bernie's talking points ever so delicately, to grab most of his supporters.
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

I don't think they think it's cute; they're generally comfortable with marxism. Most weak people are attracted to power.

Once the mob starts, it stops only when it's met by a stronger force. One thing we can be sure of with Democrats is their only instinct is to cave to the worst excesses of their party.

You can see on these boards how the weak seek out the weak, strength in numbers. In another era, many of this board's posters would have been Young Pioneers.

You might think that the collapse of communism throughout Eastern Europe would be considered a decisive failure for Marxism but Democrats in America are utterly undaunted.

Meanwhile, Trump and your Republicans are prepping yet another $1 Trillion commie bailout. And neither of you hippie socialists will say boo about that. You'll just take the money, and ignore that Republicans did it.

The Republican mask is off, boys. No one----no one---buys your nonsense anymore.

Ayn Rand Institute and Grover Norquist took bailout money. That's your entire party's 40 years of nonsense lies summarized in one sentence.

Anything that lines your pockets is fine, fellas. Stop pretending you have values that you don't have. No one is buying it, comrades.

Meanwhile, every Democratic state is about to go bankrupt.

Really? How are any of the people you just listed going to pass Federal laws without Republicans signing on for it? And Dem's, too?

Were you this worried about the 60's hippies? They were about 1000 times more radical than this group.

What ACTUALLY happened? Hippies morphed into Preppies and Yuppies, and cashed in.

You're worrying over nothing. This is America. One person----even Trump----can't wave a wand, and do what he likes. You're freaking out because FoxNation is telling you to freak out.

Know what happened with BLM in Colorado? Simple. They sat at the table with legislators, and crafted new policing laws. Laws that were overdue. Guess who signed on to the bill? Republicans, and a ton of police organizations. Peacefully.

You're acting like that's just insane. I simply don't share your view that our government is flawless, and that we need to maintain government status quo....

Seattle Trotskyites (whom MD says are just fine) vote to defund the Seattle police department by 50% and also take 911 dispatchers away from the force.

https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-ne ... 1594345687

Didn't we just see what happens when you defund the police in the CHOP Zone? I know MD said we needed 'more patience' and that 4 murders was the price we needed to pay to get rid of Trump, but does anyone think Seattle real estate will be a solid investment with this development?
