Schelling could be a good pick. Terry Foy predicted that McAdorey will play attack this spring and that may play into Schelling's impact. It doesn't seem like Duke has had a real plan regarding their offensive personnel for a little while, but I think they were burned by some guys in the past that they were counting on to be big contributors that underperformed. This is my perception. I have no inside scoop.

I certainly hope Finn Thomson scores a lot of points. He's a gifted player and a lot of fun to watch. It seems Pat march is changing the SU offense to suit the skills of the players, so us SU fans are excited.

I'll do the 2-3 draft hits a year exercise. Of course, not all "hits" are equal. Pat Kavanagh scores more points for me than Will Peden, but I consider them both draft hits and I expect Peden's numbers to increase. I consider someone a hit if they become a good fantasy starter for at least a year.

I don't know if someone should get credit for a draft hit if they draft an upperclassman who plays for them for a year and gets the same fantasy points as their lowest fantasy starter at A or M. We may see examples if a few of us do this.

2023 Draft (likely hits)
Matt Minicus - Loyola
Grant Breyo - UMass
Others are possible but the above 2 seem very likely

2022 Draft
Will Peden
I don't know if Ricciardelli will get consistent points ever, but I'm willing to hang on to him another year at least.
I had to drop Josh Tang, who was a maybe hit eventually

2021 Draft
Owen Hiltz
Pat Skalniak
Bobby Abshire

2020 Draft
Pat Kavanagh
Mike Tobin

2019 Draft
Xander Dickson

It looks like I've averaged <2 draft hits each year, but the COVID year has helped us fill our rosters and I'm no exception.

Look out for this under the radar pick

Help from within.

It’s always easy to look at first-year players and transfers for impact, but Daly thinks a couple of returning players are primed for big years in 2023.

Like many of Brown’s seniors, Griffin King finally got a chance to play a significant role after COVID wiped out his first two seasons. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound midfielder finished the year with 20 points (13G, 7A). He scored a goal in each of Brown’s final seven games and has the tools to make a leap this season.

It’s still speculative but at that point looking at how he played down the stretch and against better comp in consideration of my wildly speculative FR pics earlier I needed a guy that should put up 30+ at midfield so it looked good as a later round pick.

Clearly though Jr and I are learning and it could be a long year. Some pieces there but it’s a spec youth movement

If a mid puts up 30+ points, he's very likely to be First Team All-Fantasy. i.e. Top 3 middy in the league.

I mean if you consider 20 was a 4 game season, 21 was cancelled, 22 was his first full year - played 1 of their 4 games in 2020 when Covid ended seasons then didn't have 21. Played all 16 last year They lost a lot and he was still 13,7 scoring in his last 7-8 games. Even with the inflation of sizes he's listed at 6'2', 215, 2x UA AA in CNY. Corsi and FR but he's going to have opportunity to be a heavy producer. Got 47 shots as a 5th or 6th option. To go from 20pts to 30 or more given al the kids between McClane and him are gone feels like a decent bet. You guys are all more versed in fantasy than I but for a 4th or 5th round pick after early shots on Cesear and Brody Coleman I felt good about this one.

This is what I was looking at. But it's all spec for a few more weeks...

You are talking about 30 overall points while Matnum is talking about the 8 games that count for thee fantasy season.

You drafted King with pick 3.1 and Coleman with pick 5.1

Ahhh, yeah I’m working like I’m still an analyst/associate in NYC the last 12-18 months even though I in theory I’m far senior to those jobs these days so I can’t keep up. Need the superior FFGJr to be handling this but he’s down the street reaching his friend lacrosse right now, convincing him to join our rec league team.
