I figure this is a good time to create a new topic dedicated to the Stormy Petrels. :D

Ah, Sean Kirwan? Right? That's what I heard. Someone on this board said it. I'm taking that guy at his word.

Wow. He and his must hate Charlottesville and want to get deeper into the south...

I can assure you that Sean Kirwan is not the new coach at Oglethorpe. The announcement should be made soon.

NESCAC assistant that was in the NCAA Tournament this year is what the word on the street is. If true that's a huge hire for Oglethorpe who has had a history of underwhelming hires.

Midd didn't make the tourney, so that likely leaves Haefele, Pilat, Toomey, Pecora and (maybe) Weeks as the candidates fitting boredatwork's description.

I don’t think Toomey would go there. My guess is Carrington… maybe

Good point - completely forgot that he moved to Amherst from Tusculum.

Hearing those names, I think Pecora is the most likely. I feel like Carrington and Pilat would be in line for higher-end openings, and I think they are, but I could be imagining that.

Don't sweat it - playing these kind of guessing games is fun.

Weird gauge for success as a recruiting coordinator, 3 freshmen and 3 sophomores on the roster. Might need to do a little better than that in upcoming years.

One would have to assume the other candidates turned it down.

Or… there wasn’t actually a search and they just posted the job position publicly because colleges are required to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ regardless best of luck to Coach Dangel and whatever staff they go with, big challenge and big opportunity.
