The Hoyas are stacked and red hot, but Shea always seems to get his Bulldogs ready to play, when the stakes are the highest.

Tough day but congrats to Eli on turning around what looked like an ugly season earlier on.
Re: Yale 2023
Congrats to the boys for another good year. Didn’t work out great but there’s lots to improve on and lots of material to work with.

Re: Yale 2023
With the 2023 thread coming to an end, I wanted to first, congratulate and thank the graduating seniors on all they’ve given Yale lacrosse during a crazy time to be a Yale athlete (“Lax in the Time of Cholera”?). Thank you as well to Coach Shay and the entire team — it’s been another great year to be a Yale lacrosse fan.
Lastly, we’ve missed our Yale Forum (first LaxPower, then FanLax) friend calourie this spring. I never met calourie in person — My sense is that he is a Yale lax alumnus living out on the West Coast. Calourie’s uncommon decency always came through, along with empathy for young men doing the best they can out on the lacrosse field. Hopefully other things (family or work) have pulled calourie away from the forum and we’ll see him again. But if not, I will still think of him often and be happy to have shared with him at least virtually the experience of being a Yale fan in the Shay era. All the best to you, friend.

Calourie, yes, he was a mainstay on this board. A Yale lax alum from the 1960s / early 70s who was living on the West Coast, his posts were thoughtful, measured, and showed unwavering support for Andy Shay. Calourie was definitely missed this season.
Re: Yale 2023
There were lots of good stats for the 23 team, but these are the ones that jumped out to me...
Clearing %- #58 out of 72 D1 teams
Man down D- #70
Man up- #59
Goals allowed/game- #62
Defensive efficiency- #61 raw, #47 adjusted

Looking to the future a bit . . . Goalie commit Ben Friedman out of Taft had a star turn in Taft’s ESPNU televised win over Avon Old Farms: https://twitter.com/scnext/status/16585 ... 69472?s=46
Had 13 saves and was player of the game: https://twitter.com/scnext/status/16586 ... 03811?s=46

Wait a minute … is calourie still with us, or has he passed to the great Yale campus in the sky?
