As soon as I collect my guaranteed winnings on Delaware beating Cornell, I’ll be liquid enough to lay some bets on UVA/MD. Stand by.
I'm still standing by ...

Smart by the refs to help Cornell early to get them the win. Calling penalties late would have been suspect.

For all Big Red haters, we must be armed and ready this week. I’ll do the research; if they hate puppies, I’ll know. Focus.

Thought Maryland vs. UVa couldn’t possibly be boring… but it was. Maryland had taken the air out of the ball by the end of the first half.

I mean… this was Virginia.

36 wins, 2 losses since 2020, 0.947368.

And they beat the daylights out of the two time
defending champions.

I was at it. I just figured UVa in that game was carrying some injuries on D (i.e. Saustad, whom Khan went off on), Lasalla wasn’t 100%, and that the game would motivate Virginia. Well… Maryland was more dominant in this game. Zap and Makar completely shut down two of the best offensive players in the nation - they were -5 goals and -5 assists net versus the April game.

UVA had 5 total scorers.

MD had 14 total scorers.

And Zappitello outscoring Shellenberger might be the most dominant performance of the season by any player.

Congratulations to Maryland. I hate you all.

In any other season, the 2022 Virginia Cavaliers would have been a solid bet to win it all. And the Terps just destroyed them.

Makes the Blue Jays’ 16-11 loss to the Terps look pretty good.

The best two teams going head to head with a history that makes it even more exciting. Sad that one of them will be out and someone else on the other side of the bracket is getting a real break by these two meeting in the quarters. Told my family and friends, no phone calls, no discussions, no visits Sunday from 2pm on... I will be in the zone getting my lax fix!
I agree that sundays game between the terps and the hoos will be the de facto championship game. Say what you want about the other teams but I think whoever wins will coast to the national championship. I think it’s Maryland’s game to lose and uva is playing with house money. There is so much talent on each squad but especially Maryland.
Penn has lost 4 games to top 10 teams by a TOTAL of 6 goals. I know they didn't look special squeaking past Richmond (who beat UVA!), but they looked great in the ILT. Nobody is going to coast past them.
Given how easily Md handled UVA this year, I doubt UVA will be their biggest challenge this tournament.
I stand by my previous post...Md will have tougher games in East Hartford than today's game against UVA. I wonder if the "this is the de facto national championship" crowd is rooting for good games, or more blowouts so they can spend the off-season saying UVA was screwed by the seeding

UVA drew closer to MD by 2 goals in this game compared with its regular season game against MD (going from an 11-goal difference to a 9-goal difference).

If ND drew closer to MD by by 2 goals compared with its regular season game against MD (going from a 2-goal difference to a 0-goal difference), it's certainly possible ND could have beaten MD.
