Coaching changes

Post by LaxCoach13 »

With most schools getting ready to start was wondering if anyone has heard anything about all the openings still out there. Plus what are the thoughts and reactions to John Sung being named HC at Carthage in Wisconsin.
Openings as of today:
Marian, WI
Moravian, PA
Thomas, MA
Loras, IA
University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, MA
Muskingum University, OH
any others? and I know they are not DIII but what about
Clarke IA
Concordia Ann Arbor

There was an opening in the NCAC that was just filled. During mid-summer Ashley Hughes, former HC at Allegheny College, left for Bridgewater. That vacancy has closed however, as earlier this week Patricia Pehnke was named the new HC of the Gators. According to the presser, she was most recently an assistant at Rochester. Best of luck to her in reaching out to uncommitted girls who still have interest in that program.

John loves Lacrosse and John loves coaching. I'm not surprised at all. John is one of the very few coaches who would return to his roots in D3. He came from Adrian(MI) College and did a terrific job with them, before he got on the D1 Train.
Good luck to him.

Interesting. Men's coaching staff, but a female assistant at one of the premier men's D3 programs:

Happy for her. I’m glad to see women making moves in the mens lax coaching world. She’s a trailblazer and I wish her and her team the best of luck!!

Just saw a posting on NCAA jobs that Whittier is looking for a new coach? Any word on where Sylvia Queener went? Did she go after that Furman job?

Saw a posting for Chicago Concordia? Didn’t their coach just start in September or October? What’s going on, any ideas where he went?

I guess it is about time for Geneseo to get of the pot. Interesting hire.

Wow! I have known her a long time. She put Gettysburg Lacrosse on the map. 3 National Titles and a perineal National Power in D3. Congrats to Carol and best of luck in your final season.
